Scirocco r conversion problems

Post by motoxperki »

Hey guys, just bought the scirocco front and rear R conversions, all the bumpers fit fine and everything falls into place. However the front DRL's ( LED's ) won't plug in as the connections are different. Standard sidelights are for a 2 prong plug and the DRL's are a 3 prong flug. Is there any way if solving this as it cost me a Large ammount of money for this conversion. Help needed

Cheers guys
Matt

side note:
Matt
if you're not changing the headlights be aware you will lose your front indicators as this is in the headlamp on the r not the sidelights.

Yes this is not a problem, just want to get everything working so it's all done, I'm not worried about the front indicators just want the led's to work, just wondering if anyone knows if there is an adaptor out there or a quick fix method

You forgot the DRL differences. You need this adapter :

Your best to call kufatec as from experience of buying various bits delivery will not be 3-4 working days your probably looking at 4 days for assembly plus 5 days shipping to the UK distributor then 1-2 days from the distributor to you e.g. approx 10 working days.

Also you'll need VCDS or access to it or the Kufatec dongle to sort out the coding for them to work.

UK orders are redirected to the UK distributor when placed online. tel 0845 3703228 for Kufatec UK / Richter Sport.

Thanks for your help, looked them online, it doesn't say that they come in pairs, so do I have to order 2? Also are they just simple plug in adaptors or is there extra wiring ?

Should be a pair from experience of kufatec parts generally. The manual will be in German, I'd expect the kit to include everything but you may need to do a bit of rewiring so various wiring tools / pin removal tools may be needed. Give the UK distributor a ring and ask they're very helpful.

IIRC the kit requires genuine R (xenon) headlights or you'll get the side lights acting as indicators.
