A little bit of help needed please.....
Opened the door, got in and turned the key and then all of the speakers started making a really loud buzzing noise that I could only describe as being swarmed by bees and the music was playing all crackly and dull sounding.
The noise continued with the car powered down and key removed and with the RNS unit turned off and even continued when I locked the car and got out!!!
Drove to the VW dealership and arranged an appointment......came out and everything had stopped and was back to normal!!??
Any ideas?

Do you have the RNS510 unit fitted to your car? If so take a look at this YT video and compare http://youtu.be/G2G5YV_aqdw
If it's the same noise then it is probably a glitch with the head unit. For some a replacement head unit cured the problem and for others it was a one off event.

Re: Buzzing speakers!
well, back from the VW stealer.......
apparently this is a known problem when the battery voltage is low and the outside temperature is low.....hence why the problem went away after i drove for a short distance.
Best thing is they didn't even charge me and they were working on the car for a couple of hours to check it over! RESULT!

Having said that I'd be interested to know what they were doing to your car that took so long if, as they say, they knew it was a known problem

Re: Buzzing speakers!
thats what I asked!! haha.
they said they had quite a long series of checks they needed to do to check it wasn't something more serious........
However I suspect that somebody who was having paying work done may well have just jumped the queue.......lol.......but can't grumble for free!!
