Hi all
I've test driven the Rocco but can't remember about this...
The Standard Specification taken off the VW website states:
Sports seats, front and rear - including electrically adjustable driver's seat
From the Roc I test drove, I'm sure I remember both the driver and front passenger seats having electrically adjustable lumbar support, but can't remember about the height adjustment, forwards/backwards movement and the tilt of the backrests.
Am I right in saying that as standard, the lumbar adjustment is electrically adjustable but all other seat movements are manual?
Thanks
Matt

Re: Standard sports seats
I am sure i read on hear that the cloth seats don't get lumbar support.
The leather seat come with electic lumbar and heating as standard, all other adjustment is manual.
You can order the 12-way electric seat adjust pack which controls all seat adjustment electronically, but only on the drivers seat. It doesn't come with seat memory though which would have swung it for me so i stuck with the standard fit eletric lumbar and manual adjust on the leather. The eletric seat pack also comes with "easy entry" so the seat slides forward then back into position to let people in the back, however this is quite a slow process compared to sliding a manual seat back and forward.

Yeah, the Cloth seats definitely don't have any lumbar support adjustment of any kind (which is slightly disappointing given you get it with the standard cloth seats in the Golf GTi).jonallen628 wrote:I am sure i read on hear that the cloth seats don't get lumbar support.

Re: Standard sports seats
Thanks for the replies guys, it's as I thought it was then. I will be ordering leather seats so will get the electric lumbar adjustment. I guess that's why the VW website said the above for me last night, as I viewed the Standard Specification at the end of the Configurator, where I selected leather interior.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Standard sports seats
I can't help but feel it's nothing more than a cynical ploy of VW's part to try and get more people to tick the option box for leather seats! The cloth seats are( IMO) trimmed in a hideous cheap looking 'mesh' fabric that looks like it will start to fray after a few thousand miles. That and the fact that you don't get lumbar adjustment meant I never considered anything other than the leather seats. This will actually be the first car I've ever owned with leather seats so it'll be interesting to see how it compares to cloth?
Re: Standard sports seats
having seen the cloth in the flesh now actually think they look really good

Hmmmm, You know I like the cloth trim now too, but, the lack of lumbar support seems a bit ......well like the lack of the cover for the ashtray ! ! I can't remember the last car I had without lumbar support adjustment. It's not a must, but I don't see why it wasn't included - it would have cost peanuts !

Re: Standard sports seats
I must admit i prefer the cloth to the leather. Ive ordered mine in the cloth as i just liked the look and feel of it a litle bit more. Besides the £1400 that it saved left a fair chunk of money for options etc.
Ive had a fair few cars with lumbar support now from Golfs to S3's and a variety of Fords but found that the more options there was on the seats the less comfortable i was. I guess it was a mind over matter thing but i was constantly adjusting something to see if it felt a little betterand as a consequence was never really happy. And after the missus had driven the car it would take days/weeks to get back to where i wanted it.
Just my 2p's worth.

Re: Standard sports seats
Personally I've found that the seats in the Golf GTi made it the most comfortable car I've ever owned so I'm not willing to compromise on that! Especially after I had to sell my Civic Type-R do to being unable to find a suitable driving position. Mind you that was probably more down to the seats not adjusting for height and the steering wheel not adjusting for reach rather than the lack of lumbar adjustment. Certainly any option that could make my car more comfortable to sit in for a long time isn't something I'd contemplate not going for!Andy500 wrote:
