Hi All,
I am new to this forum so please go easy ......
I am thinking of changing my wifes 2010 cooper s convertible (175bhp) to a new '62' candy white TSI 160 (with leather and 18" wheels).
I have not driven one yet.....how do you think it will compare to the mini ??.
She mainly uses it for town driving and short journeys.
Looked at a few today....and I like !

I think I need to drive one first...i don't want to be disappointed with the performance vs the 's' !!
I was also looking at polo gti's too but this is the wrong place to discuss that option !!!!!!

Re: Cooper s convertible to TSI 160 ?
my wife's got a Cooper convertible, which isn't quite the same but - you will obviously notice less of a kick from a TSi 160 compared to the Cooper S, which I'm sure yo know.
Space and usability wise the Roc is tons better. You have a decent size boot as opposed to a rear glove box and the rear seats are reasonably accessible and full size with good leg room.
The Roc has some rear view visibility issues but is still much better than the Mini convertible. Its quieter to as you'd expect especially at motorway speed.
The Roc has pretty good handling but you won't get that go-cart feel that you get from the Mini.
Does that help?

It does helps thanks.....
The 's ' is quick but not as quick as her old hardtop 's' she had previously due to the extra weight, so I was kind of hoping it wouldn't be too different after all it is only 15bhp lower !?
The mini is a little fidgety over rough ground too so I think the ride will be better anyway and more practical obviously.
