Window not going going up/down with key
Guys my windows are no longer going up and down off of the key, have I adjusted something in the menu?

Check the comford close / open
It should still take the glass a little down when you actually open the door.

If the windows are down when you lock the car, lock the car with one blip of the fob, then press it again but only this time hold the button down usually takes a couple of secs then the windows will go up!
Its the reverse to open the windows, one press to open then a second press but holding the button down to open them

Sounds to me like JPZ1000 is not asking how to do it, but rather why it has stopped working for him...

I appreciate that but before we go any further I always tend to find its helpful to figure out its being done correctly firstrobrob wrote:Sounds to me like JPZ1000 is not asking how to do it, but rather why it has stopped working for him...

I tried it today after reading the posts ... hold the lock key down it might take about 5-10 seconds of holding it down ... so be patient and just hold

Re: Window not going going up/down with key
Hi there I've had a simular problem with my scirocco accept my windows were going down then up again when you put the key in the ignition to start the engine. I know drivers door should drop when you remove the key from the ignition but mine was doing the opposite to RESET the windows remove the cover from the left side of the drivers door handle there is a little cut-out at the bottom cover if you use the key it just pops off. Put the key in the lock and turn it to the right and hold it in that posistion for about 10seconds the windows will drop all the way down and back up to the top again they will then be reset......This still did not work with mine though it may with yours after three trips back to the main dealer they have now replaced the ignition and re-coded my keys and that has done the trick. Good luck.

Success (I think I waited too long between press one and two)

Re: Window not going going up/down with key
I know its a little off topic but does holding the key in open both windows or just the drivers window?
At present I have a MK5 Golf and its just the drivers window that opens when holding the button.

Re: Window not going going up/down with key
you can choose both / driver / off somewhere in the convenience section of the MFD setup menu. I recon this is the solution to all the above problems so have a look through the manual for the exact options if you can't find em.

Re: Window not going going up/down with key
Still waiting for my Roc but .... what's the general feeling about this window drop feature.
Is it to allow the doors to close more easily or is it necessary because of the frameless window design ? Are there any other problems with it ?

Re: Window not going going up/down with key
Pretty much every frameless window does it? In my experience anyway! its to make a tight seal as the window goes up behind a rubber strip, so when you unlock the car it drops a few mm (unless its winter and the window has decided to freeze itself to the rubber lol)ZephyR wrote:Still waiting for my Roc but .... what's the general feeling about this window drop feature.

We are talking about the auto window open in this thread though, which in summer is a useful feature as you can open the windows as you walk up to the car and let some heat out of the car before you have to get in the cabin
