Morning All,
I took my car back to the dealers this week as ive got a knocking noise coming from the boot, on the drivers side. It tends to knock when travelling on a rough / bumpy road. Its done it since new, and I had the seats down the other day and you can hear it much more clearly.
The dealers said they have identified the noise as the boot stops, however a few minutes after picking the car up its doing it again. Has anyone got any similar experiences? It sounds to me likes its coming from the suspension, which would tie in with the road surface causing the noise?
Any info would be muchly appreciated!
Cheers
Rich

Have you looked at and eliminated the Rear Parking Sensor's Controller in the back right corner of the boot area under the rear RH tail lamp? Behind the boot wall covering. If not a bit of foam sponge should do the trick.

Re: Knocking noise rear drivers side
Thanks for the advice. The knocking is coming from the drivers side, so this afternoon I stripped out the boot lining and found the parking sensor control unit - as the video shows its barely attached and shakes around everywhere. So I wedged it with a nice piece of sponge. Sorted - or so I thought...
The knocking continued! So I decided just to test the boot stops that the dealer adjusted, or so they said, by putting a piece of thin sponge over the pad where the stop closes onto and then closing the boot onto it. Guess what! No knocking! Cant believe it. Anyway, ill be calling the dealer on monday asking for a new stop to be sent out to me with details how to swap it.
Thanks for the quick response mate!

The boot stops are adjustable so you could probably fix it yourself. When you open the boot you will see a small hole in the rubber. You can fit and allen key in there too loosen the stop and pull out to adjust the length.RJM85 wrote:Thanks for the advice. Brilliant! Done! Thanks for the advice! Should have asked on here before taking it to the dealers. They reckon they had already adjusted it, but im now wondering if they didnt even look at it...
