How long have you had to wait for?

Post by steve »

I've just had a confirmed date that I can collect my car on :D

This means that it'll be 6 months and a few days between paying my deposit and collecting it....

Is this a record wait, or is it typical?

Has anyone had to wait longer than this?

The thing delaying yours in the pana roof. There are some supply issues with it. I think if it didn't have that you'd probably get it in about 12-16 weeks. Less if it was a spec they had in a field somewhere.

I originally had Xenons on the spec and that caused a delay too.

Just wondering if I'd won the "long wait record" or not? Just 2 weeks to go - come on Friday the 27th!

Anyone had to wait longer? :)

I'm just wondering:

Might these sick waiting times be caused by you guys having the steering wheel on the wrong side?
The guy I spoke to at the motorshow in Geneva talked about 10 - 12 weeks.

I don't think it's got anything to do with the steering wheel being on the wrong side Alex. The estimated 10-12 weeks is what I was told when I ordered mine too.

Like Kev said, certain options have been causing delays. Whether VW have sorted this out yet isn't clear to me.

How can ordering cars take long now when cars sales are down 50% anyway? :D

Today I've been waiting for 27 weeks  The roc has left the factory and hopefully be in Norway before easter, but my stealer will not guarantee anything. After reading a lot I'm confident that it will be worth the wait :)

6 months here too... damn that pano roof...

Mine's now arrived in the UK & I've been advised of the plate reg - whoo hoo :vibes:

However I won't be able to get my sweaty mitts on it until 7th April due to my companies lease car rules about picking up a car once the fisccal year starts... just a few more weeks of salivating at pics of here to go :)

Nop this sick delayed times are caused by periods when "Autoeuropa" simply don't produce cars. The plant allready stopped the production for 2 months this year... The reason, vw mantain the production of vw sharan and seat alhambra... Well these 2 models simply don't sell a single car... Vw do not want to fire ppl so they stop production... The problem is the sindicates..., if ppl who works in the production of sharan and alhambra don't work and go home (they're not payed in these periods) the sindicates simply won't let ppl who works on eos and scirocco keep working and receiving money... Sooooo all the production stops. Now Autoeuropa is allready at full labor so waiting times will get serious better... I'm really sorry for my english guys but i'm from Portugal and i'm giving my best... :D
