Revo select plus issues

Post by harryc »

Im trying to use my new Select plus switch to try altering the map and putting it back to stock but having some dramas. When I click stock then ecu set I get the error message;

"Check connection to ecu or protocol error"

The select plus is set to 0 and I downloaded the software from the cd, anyone else experienced this? I have the same issue when 'acquiring' the ecu setting and usually get a 'not responding' message at the top of the dialogue box...

Not sure if I'm missing exactly what you're trying to do but you don't need to use a computer to use the switch - just set it to what you want and plug it into the obd port by the bonnet catch. You'll hear some quick continuous beeps and it's all done.

As I understood the instructions you can set the switch to 0 and run a stand alone type editor using the software and switch maps, boost, timing etc. I havn't tried just using the switch yet as I've dropped the car at the dealers but I'm not sure what the cause of my problem is. Id prefer to be able to see and set the changes rather than hope the settings on the switch are what I think they are.

on the tsi in your car you can only adjust the boost in the select plus software (not fuel and timing which you can on an R), easiest way is to plug select plus and attach the cable to a laptop and get what the ecu settings are, i'd be speaking to the revo dealer who set up the car for clarification

I can't even acquire the ecu settings without getting an error message, I picked up the switch recently as Revo were taking forever to supply a switch from the christmas offer, Simon at mega4 in Woking ended up giving me a plus unit from his own stock.

No the s/w should be fine, does the switch work without the PC to switch between performance and stock modes?
