Just got a few parts to try and sort out the incident with the curb, picked up a wheel hub/bearings today - the query I have is the hub only has 4 holes, so not sure how it fits together and if they have provided me with the correct one. It is a Trupart TBK1349 part that I was given and I am aware it isn't the original part.

The bolts go in from the inner side of the of the hub, 4 bolts to 70Nm, then + 90' turn.

Think you'd better take off the grease cap and see whats in there. It needs a special spline type tool and the hub bolt is on stiff! 200Nm, then +180' turn.

11 are the 4 bolts on the inside face
15 is the hub's splined head bolt

- Centre grease cap off
- Hub bolt loosened with wheel still on ground.
- Wheel off
- Hub bolt fully out.
- Brakes Caliler & carrier off
- Take off ABS sensor (don't bend)
- Small screw on disc out, and take off brake disc
- Remove 4 bolts on driveshaft side which secure the bearing housing.
- Bearing hub free to take out.

Looking at the exploded diagramme I have been supplied with part 20, both. I also have the lower arm and ball joint, will not really know what is bent until all comes off and start measuring up and seeing if anything is totally out. Though from the results of the alignment and secondary alignment I would say something is bent. They seemed to think it was the carrier as you get a mild bearing noise also when driving. Might be the lower arm, something is definitely bent and visible when the wheels are straight you can see it curves in at the bottom.

Given the camber was changed in the chart figures you put up a while back, I'd give the control arm (lower arm/wishbone) a good going over in comparison to the right hand one for deflection downwards at the hub end. Its weak enough to bend. Wheel bearing has just taken a clout and suffered.

Track rod is toe. Toe will change if the control arm is bent. So I don't think it will be bent or damaged.

Cars back, bearing/hub was bent so replaced that and ended up just replacing the hub and ball joint too. Will not know for sure if it has cured all problems until alignment takes place next week.

Right all back and gone for the all important alignment, problem still exists. The alignment technician (who was very helpful on both occasions and credit to him as he did say he didn't think it was the arm) pointed to two possible problem areas.

1. Being the hub carrier
2. The strut itself

He suggested that we take the thing apart and pull the strut out to take a look at it and see if there is obvious signs of it being damaged, place a straight rule against it and see.

This isn't a problem for me to do with someone but I just wanted to know if there is anything I should be aware of when taking this apart, or if anyone has a guide on how to do this?
