mpg in a bluemotion
mpg in a bluemotion
I just wondered what sort of mpg figures members are getting out of the 140 bluemotion for various types of driving, but most importantly motorway. Thanks

Over 9 months since new and 6000 miles, mines averaged 48.9mpg as a mix of driving. When going down to my sister in Oxford though, ( 120 miles), it can easily achieve 60+ mpg on the motorway.

My tdi 170 gt has averaged 43.2 over the first 6600 miles - if kept to 70-75 on a motorway run it'll do 60 mpg as well l!!

Re: mpg in a bluemotion
I did 58 mpg yesterday. Mixture of roads including 40miles at 85mph on the motorway. The rest was 50mph roads and some town driving
Re: mpg in a bluemotion
Thanks for the replies, it sounds like it'll achieve better figures than my current car which i'm please about.

I'm easily averaging 55mpg on my 170 TDI.
I think bluemotion is only of real benefit if you do a lot of town driving where the start/stop will help a lot, although that style of driving is not good for the DPF :-)

And also energy recuperation so the alternator is used less..Cuprabob wrote:I'm easily averaging 55mpg on my 170 TDI.

As for the start stop, I do open road driving to work every day, but there are multiple sets of traffic lights on route. The start stop comes in very handy, and no issues with the DPF

Re: mpg in a bluemotion
I do 35 miles ish to work on a mix of road with lots of traffic lights and a fair chunk of motorway too. Average on this usually around 55-60 mpg based on 140 tdi DSG Bluemotion.
Stop/start is great especially when motorways stand still as they invariably do.
I do quite often only get 30mpg tho... but thats on country roads in sport mode and a lead lined right foot hahahhaha
