Re: Bagged Rocco Is Back!
Damnnnnnnnnn!
Those are some big ass rims! I would be afraid to get out of the garage... Since our Belgian roads are, well, you know...
Although they aren´t what I would pick, they are some fine looking rims. 245 wide yes?
btw, I got mine I´m looking for someone in the Brugges area that can do some VCDS programming (and knows what he is doing off course).
Do you know someone Xypher?
Mine is here but not even half as kick-ass as yours

Re: Bagged Rocco Is Back!
Thanks for the link. I'll be paying those guys a visit. I've got some things I'd like to change on mine.
Are you using your car for daily use? Or more like a sunday drivers car? I can imagin that with those rims you don't drive 25000 kms a year. Or am I wrong?

Re: Bagged Rocco Is Back!
Very nice mate, keep the photos coming I never get fed up looking at them.
I am incurring more problems with getting my car, firstly I was told that there is a delay with the DSG gearbox, then I was told middle to late May for delivery. So I went berserk as it already took me 4 weeks and three attempts for a test drive from December until January, no sales technique required as I wanted the ROC for some time and was already sold on the ROC. So I contacted VW customer Service head office in London, who told me that they would investigate and keep me posted on a weekly basis while trying to improve my delivery date.
There findings were to me totally unacceptable and very frustrating not too mention made me even more furious although I appreciated the truth at long last. I told them all the issues and lack of communication I've had from my dealers so far. They then they told me that my order had not been placed until late February although I had paid upfront in January. They have now told me that they will try to push my order through as a priority and try to hit my original delivery date of April the 20th, still no mention from the Customer Service regarding any DSG gearbox delays, so I am still in limbo but to be fair they have been calling me twice a week for the last two weeks on any progress.
Fingers crossed, also i can only imagine what my after service is going to be like at this rate. Bad enough enduring the normal wait without being hit with bullshit..!!
Anyway rant over hope all is very well with you Xypher my good friend..??
Regards,
Luke.

Love those Interad Martini's
I wanted to go with Interrad as well, but never got around to trying out the offsets I needed, and what design to go for, DTM or Le Mans

result -> from 122 to 148hp, i don't remember the torque but i think it's around 250nm? dyno results are following
anyway, i'm very pleased! throttle respons is just the way i like it now, kicking the pedal down -> car takes off
and very pleased with the exhaust aswell! stationair u don't hear any diff. but when pushing the pedal it gets nice and sporty and icw the k&n and blow off valve it's sounds really nice!

Re: Bagged Rocco Is Back!
Gorgeous car! A bit low for my taste, but hey, if you got bags then use them, right? I'm a bit surprised you got "only" 148 PS with the remap + k&n + exhaust, as most remaps promise at least 155 PS with no other mods. Was the dyno result before the remap 122 PS / 200 Nm? Any idea what the wheels weigh?

roccoscientist:
i'm happy with the 148hp, other remaps that promise higher rates i don't really trust, cause i've talked to the mapper and he told me that the clutch might slip if he puts it over 150hp just cause it can't handle the amount off torque, so i specifically asked him to put it somewhere between the middle, safe for my clutch but still enough boost and he did it, and i'm very pleased!
weight off wheels i don't know, i know there forged but thats about it...
rmck: thanks man! although there ARE NOT rotiform blq's who copied them but INTERAD MARTINI's just to be correct
turboyuppie:
as i told u in pm, i might go, depends on what time i get up

Re: Bagged Rocco Is Back!
I'm no expert, but that sounds a bit weird since those remaps are taking more or less the same amount of torque (~250 Nm) out of the engine as you and I've not heard of a single person having clutch problems with such remaps. Also, you wouldn't really need to take out any more torque to get higher peak power. You can have ~160 hp with just the regular 200 Nm, if you can just keep the torque curve level long enough (the standard torque curve starts to fall at around 4000 rpm), but then of course the nature of the engine would be more like a naturally aspirated engine with a rewarding (well, sort of) top end while you now how an engine with a more mid-range punch.xypher wrote:roccoscientist:

I'm not saying this to criticize your remap. I'm just wondering about the explanation you've been given, since I have been thinking about doing the exact opposite (high power, but more or less standard torque), but for the same reasons. Anyways, you're obviously happy with the remap you have and that's all that matters. And your car really is a head-turner. =)
