Scirocco Central

Got my scirocco yesterday and saw a Candy White on my journey home!
Waved and got a wave back so finished off my day nicely haha!

Had my rocco for a year and 5months and only had 1 wave from a female driver of an H reg Mk2 scirocco.

Waving not really catching on over here. How ever, one thing I cannot help doing is letting fellow Sciroccos into traffic in front of me, in an elevated sense of duty, like its a member if my family pulling out.
Another thing I've noticed lately, is, that the scirocco doesn't have the BMW effect on other drivers. ie; people seem to be happy to let the car into traffic, in a kind of "oh look at the cute little car" or maybe "that guy deserves to pull into traffic if he likes cars enough to buy a scirocco"!! Definitely kudos involved in owning one.
Strangely- I still get asked what kind if car it is. I still, despite its introduction in 2008, see people stopping when they see the car, and in one instance pointing out to his friends- " hey, look- its the new Volkswagen"

I think cities may be the exception but certainly driving on the main highways, it seems standard practice to move over to allow a faster vehicle to pass and then 9 times out of 10, you get a couple of hazard flashes to say thanks!

Traffic levels mind you are way, way less than we experience in crowded UK.

Iv gave up waving and flashing. Just seems like every roc owner I pass just blanks me and gives funny looks.

yes, here its basically an unwritten rule that you need to stay on the left for the faster cars to pass, then a hazard flash from the faster car is a sign of gratitude, and a full beam is an acknowledgement that is nice about the highways, but the Rocc drivers are very few here, sadly and they dont share the passion, to most of them its just another car

I really want to go. Have a friend in Zimbabwe, but screw that. I'd get jakked more than you here in SA.

I obv don't want no crap happening. It'll be a holiday not a nightmare hopefully if I was to go

don't believe everything u read, hear about Zimbabwe. Been there in June for 3 weeks, and never met nicer people.

In fairness Siroccos a fairly common cars and it's doubtful that the majority of owners are anything other than car owners. Not enthusiasts! In the two years I had mine I never waved at anyone and never got waved at!!!

Yes - Started in Cape Town, and then visited Simons Town, Hermanus and Plettenberg Bay before 2 Safari trips in Shamwari and Madikwe. A 3 week trip all in, one of my best ever holidays!
