I also went for the most economical engine for the scirocco and I get whichers way of thinking. Most of the people on this foorum seem to favor power over consumption. Both are equally good arguments for choosing an engine. My motorcycle uses 9l/100km (I don't know what that is in MPG but is is a lot) and I don't want that with my car...

Dealer phoned to confirm my car will be built next week! Woohoo! :) need to start thinking about having enough money in the account to pay for it when it arrives!! Lol.

Realised after using this forum for a while now that this thread should really be in 'General Scirocco Talk' and not the Deliery Room. Tiz cool if a moderator wants to move the thread over. :) Can't wait to post some piccies for you all when it finally makes it to Twickenham. :D

Dealer just phoned to confirm that the car has now been built and is on the inspection stage. Stage 8 I think she said? One step closer!!! :D

At the end of the day it's your money and your car mate. As long as its want you want then who really cares what other people think ?

I mean look at me and the stick I've had (friendly of course) in the "delivery room" section over the beige leather interior on my current MK5 Golf. I know it's not to everyone's tastes, but it's me who owns it and drives it.

Its all good light hearted humor on here anyway. :D

Dealer sent me an email with photos of a couple of bits to go on the car when it arrives... They're definitely teasing me...

Interestingly it looks like the exhaust tips screw and clamp on rather than being welded. Anyone else have the chrome tips on a 160TSI?

They're not cheap, but I think they're well worth it for the price!

If you're sad then I definitely am too!!! Got the Pedals and exhaust tips from the dealer. They're genuine VW parts and they'll fit them for me when the car arrives. :) There are quite a few posts on the forum which show how to fit them if you wanted to do it yourself. Dealer told me that on new 2011 cars you need to do a little programming with the computer though or the engine warning light will come on after installation. Can't see the pedals on VW's accessories page online but the dealer got hold of them no problem for me.

Part Numbers:

Manual - 1K2 064 200

DSG - 1K2 064 205

I've also gone for the 1.4 with DSG mate, ordered mine last Saturday for late July/early August delivery. Candy White with pretty much the same options added as you. Just answering some of your earlier replies to your thread: Ive gone for the 1.4 + DSG for the BHP, fuel economy, smoothness of running and of course the cheaper road tax. I dont agree that it'll lose much value, I think the 1.4 + DSG is very popular and can stand its own ground no problem. My mate has compared its overall performance to that of the Corrado G60 so I dont think many people can be unhappy with that !

Can anyone confirm the above? I'm about to order the manual pedal set from my local TPS for £89, I don't want to have the car throw up all sorts of error codes when I fit them.

Sootchucker- let me know if you have any issues when you fit yours? Ta.

Hehe... thanks. :) I tried to take some through the window but that just wasn't working! It was nearly dark outside! The dealers was closed so couldn't get the keys off anyone and wandered around to find the car in the backlot. I'll post some more pics when I pick her up on Saturday.
