I ask because i think the tpms is not working very well.
I did a test, after 400km.
All the wheels where at 36 psi.
And i put in one of yhem 39.
The light didnt come on.
Mybe i will do it diffrent on lose som psi in one wheel to 29. And then check?

why did you think it would come on by raising the pressure of a tyre?
it is looking for a rolling radius of one or more wheels to be LESS THAN the tollerance based on what the system was last set at,
ie you set the system with the wheels at 36psi, the tollerance set in the system is for example 32psi (will not be a specified pressure as the system works on rolling radi) so when a wheel falls below that tollerance the system will flag it up.

It won't see a 3psi change easily at 400KM. It hasn't necessarily fully calibrated by then, depoending on your driving during the 400km. If not fully calibrated then the tolerance is wider.

You need to look at measuring block 231,4 in the 03 - ABS Brakes. Values 0, 1 & 2. 2 is fully calibrated. Then it may see a 3 psi drop but it needs more like 5 psi as 3 psi is within the range of normal tyre inflation changes due to the tyre being driven.

Stage 4:The important field is 231,4 with its value of "2". The confirmation that it has completed the learning process is Measuring Block 231,4 changes to a "2".

Measuring Blocks 230,3 & 230,4 have values 6666 & 6662 or near similar; 231,3 has 8870 or near similar value at the learning maturity point as M.B. 231,4 switches to value "2". Measuring Block 230,4 is measuring the four wheel vibrations.

During learning the system can only detect changes in tyre pressure of about 10psi. On maturity of the learning process this improves to detecting about 4 - 5 psi drop before the speedo dial tyre warning symbol comes on.

My last distance to full calibration took 1500Km.

I have activated TPMS in my Scirocco and I have seen that after coding I have new channel 01 in adaptation, before activation it was not available. In my friend Golf 5 with older ESP I have seen in this channel information about size of wheel, 0 for 15inch and maybe 1 or 2 will be for bigger wheels, can somebody with factory fitted check what he have in this channel?

I want to purchase "Tire Pressure Monitoring -Harness-VW Scirocco" from Kufatec for me Rocco but they have this information that it is "suitable for vehicles until 2009 model year" & "Not suitable for vehicles from 2010 model year". Can anyone point me in right direction? My build date is February 2010.

In one of lastest VCDS version was added a new bit in ABS coding:
LC,17,2,Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS/PR-7K6) via Instrument Cluster (MY2011+)

I have red clusters and I can't test this, maybe it gives resetting TPMS by MFD?

You won’t need Byte 17, Bit 2 as that is for MY2011+ as the VCDS screen states. It was an extra bit of coding introduced to enable TPMS for that model year onwards, ie. 2011+.

For your’s, just need Byte 16, Bit 2 enabled. Unless the reset switch is wired in, the TPMS is reset by going into Basic Settings with Group 042 entered. That functions the same as the factory switch.

The only indication on the dash is the TPMS amber warning symbol. No control via the MFD.

Hi.
Can anyone please tell me which wire goes to the different pins in the small black connector? The ESP button have six pins (from 1-6), but the supplied connector from the Kufatec retrofit kit only have three pins (1-3), so;

- Grey to pin?
- Green/black to pin?
- Braun to pin?

This could very well be a stupid question, so please bare with me...;-)

Basicly it is plus & ground to light the button, and the triggerwire.

I had the same issue, luckily my mom speaks German so she translated the Kufatec instructions for me.

Black/Green to Pin 2
Grey to Pin 1
Brown to Pin 3

Also I mis-wired the ABS controller pin the 1st time. Make sure you look for the pin numbers from the top of the ABS plug(ie where the cables come in) not the bottom

So after 7 years of owning the car I finally did the retrofit lol. Bought a kit from aliexpress for $14 with the button etc. works perfectly. My how times have changed.

My car has 160 000km and still feels like new. Doubt I'll sell it, will keep it when the replacement arrives. Oh, also retrofitted door warning lights lol. $10
