Also reading one of the threads earlier on, if your car was left stood still for a long period uncharged & if the voltage in your battery dropped below a certain level then can it cause the windows to drop (open) down slightly?

I had mine down low to 1/4 charge last winter. It has the updated firmware standard with the same door controllers that are affected. The windows didn't drop.

On mine when the charge gets that low, it starts a randomly timed tone pulse noise through the front door speakers. (Time to charge it up :) . Scirocco is telling me the Battery Monitor attached to the Central Electrics Controller is instructing the C.E. to shred none eseential loads to preserve what is left of the battery charge.)

An update.

My partner never used to drive my old BMW330Ci while I was overseas for work so its battery used to go flat all the time. I bought one of the solar chargers but haven't needed to use it because he loves driving the Scirocco.

Things that make a difference to him compared to the old 330Ci:-

- It's DSG rather than manual so easier in London traffic.
- It has satnav so he doesn't get lost.
- It has a totally rocking stereo with Dynaudio and £700 worth of amp & Subwooffer. The old BMW had a 12 speaker Harman Kardon factory upgrade but the Dynaudio & Sub in the Scirocco kills it.
- The power and torque since the REVO remap has turned him into a boy racer (he's 45)

Ive left mine for 3 months on 2 occasions and on first start it was perfect and other than a bit of surface corrosion on discs which soon ground off it was fine both times. Ive also left it for up to 4 weeks on a few occasions and again is always fine, as said before just leave handbrake off and happy days
