Mmmm... a "blast" down the A50...
I've only really commuted in my GT up to now. It would be nice to go for a drive, just for the sake of it, which is something I would only normally have done on me bike.

And they've knocked down most of the old large factories down now and built houses on the land. You wouldn't recognise the place...
Don't worry about these paddle extensions Bill. I've got other things I need to sort out with this car first. I need the alloys sprucing up for starters, as the previous owners were non too fussy about brushing along the kerbs.

I've just had a look on Street View. Where my office was is now an Aldi; our old house is still there on St Mary's Street and our local pub, The Packet House at Bridge Foot, is now just labelled "Bar". Can't use my paddles on my DSG as I find myself unable to get out of Sport Mode

I didn't like the OEM paddles either they felt too plasticy for my liking and not substantial; so I fitted a set of the alloy paddles from Osir (yes you have to take the airbag out and remove the existing paddles but it really isnt that much of a chore and the results are well worth it.
The Osir paddles are not as big as the paddle extensions as shown earlier, they look more OEM and feel much weightier and are cold to touch compared to the original plastic affairs - they also light up like the OEM ones and look subtly cool at night. With them being chunkier the click of an up or downshift is much more satisfying! The best bit is they work out around £65 + shipping from USA (Around £80 in total) which is much cheaper than the extensions

Can you paste in an image link and I'll see what might be wrong. At a guess it's from a hoster that doesn't have a suffix on the link, like jpg.

They were just off the Osir website - I saved them to desktop but it doesn't let me browse the pictures folder when i click IMG above.

Down shifting in DSG
I have those same paddle shifters in my VW. Actual pics from cam phone:
They don't really light up like oem. The light from the steering wheel is emitted correctly but the on/off on the shifters is a bit too high and doesn't get hit by the light properly.
