Ever wondered what those 3 alph-numerics mean on the sticker in your Scirocco's Service Book or on the Boot Floor by the Spare Wheel Well?
Thought I'd share this from one of my other Clubs, its been around a while. Its fairly reliable but tedious to punch in all the codes of the sticker. (The codes can also be found in the depths of VW's ETKA or ETOS parts systems, but not all have access to this.)
My Scirocco appears to work. What has surprrised me is that the options I have for Folding Mirrors, Cruise Control, Front Fogs and AirCon 2 Zone are not listed but Multi-Function Steering wheel and Leather are???
Here's my list off my sticker to save time puching all of them in. Maybe someone can do a higher spec'd 2.0ltr and list the extras to save peeps time of tediously punching the numerous codes.

Like RW1, I have folding heated mirrors, Front Fogs and AirCon 2 Zone, (but no Cruise control). Edit: missed the Flat Tyre Indicator, Parking Sensors.
Also you can determine the exact day your Scirocco was completed at the factory in Portugal.
On the very top of the boot sticker only is a line of numbers in groups (Not shown in the photo). The second number group from the left has the format aa-b-cccc where aa is the week number, b is the day: 1 = Monday, 4 = Thursday and 7 = Sunday.
Next on the line with the Chassis number like WVWzzz13z9******** or WVWzzz13zA******** . The 13 means Scirocco Mk3, z = ignore, 9 = MY2009 A = MY2010, B=MY2011. The year codes move on in April each year (so far). So you have to work out the week number against the Model Year (MY). MY starts about Wk14 and runs through to the following year at Wk 13.
So a car with 43-4-0125 and Chassis Number WVWzzz13zAV****** was build complete in Wk43 on Thursday in 2009 as a MY2010 Scirocco.
Week numbers run as the normal calendar year, despite the manufacturing year starting in May and finishing the following year for a Model Year (MY)
Production day numbers of the VW week:
1 = Monday
2 = Tuesday
3 = Wednesday
4 = Thursday
5 = Friday
6 = Saturday
7 = Sunday
From your Chassis number:
9V = MY2009 - June 2008 - April 2009 (Model Launch was August 2008)
AV = MY2010 - May 2009 - April 2010
BV = MY2011 - May 2010 - April 2011
CV = MY2012 - May 2011 - April 2012
DV = MY2013 - May 2012 - April 2013

Hi all,
In trying to find the build info of my car I went to the Roccopedia "Decoding Build Sticker"and I found the formula ,and on my sticker the following
Top line of boot sticker= 1832 07-3-5363 210 EG
Next line WVWzzz13zAV. So using the formula shown I worked out that the finish build of mine if I'm right is "week7 on tuesday in 2009 as MY2010, can you more adept roccos tell if right or wrong.
Cheers
Dave
AV means May 2009 - April 2010 (MY2010)
so it was build complete in 2010 for Wk07 to exist in the chassis range.
ie. Wednesday 17th February 2010
Sailed from Portugal either on the SUAR VIGO on the 18.02.11 @ 17:30 and arrived at Sheerness 20.02.10 @ 21:29 (most likely ship it sailed on) or on the EMDEN which sailed from Portugal on 20.02.10 @ 01:00 and arrived at Port of Emden 24.02.10 @ 01:00 for onward shipping to Grimsby.

I had a look for my boot sticker this morning. It appears that mine has been removed
I was interested to know what options my roc came with. The obvious one is the panoramic sunroof, but I'm not sure about anything else. I've had a bash on the official VW site, building a GT from scratch, and it looks like the car may have been fitted with front and rear spoilers, but I'm not sure.
I suppose the only way to tell for sure is to ask someone at a VW dealership? I would assume that they would be able to tell me from the car's chassis number.

There should also be a sticker on the inside cover of the service book that is a copy of the one that should be in the boot.
Erm... I'm embarrassed to inform you that I do not have the original service book. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that I haven't bought a lemon...

This is a very useful post, thanks to the previous posters (albeit some time ago now!). My car's build sticker tells me that it was built on 23/4/2010. The service book says the delivery inspection was done on 19/5/2010 (sounds reasonable) but in fact it is a 60-reg, first registered on 7/10/2010. That's almost six months between build and first registration! Is this common, or is there an obvious reason for what might have happened? Needless to say, I'm not the first owner (in fact I'm fifth - on a four year old car!)
18-5-5190 with an AV vehicle ident would mean that it was completed Friday May 1st 2009 and it is a MY 2010 car. Is that correct? If so, then it looks like it was one of the first MY2010 cars to be completed. If someone could confirm or correct, it would be appreciated. The car was first registered in June 2010 so it hung around in the showroom a bit if the build date is correct.

Thanks.
MY10 cars are from build dates week 23 of 2009 onwards, therefore based on your build date and first registered date I would think your car is one of the last MY09s.
