No a bad photoshopped guess I suppose. I think the next Golf will give a good idea of VW's next design direction. Presumably the Scirocco 4 will follow that.

I wonder if Audi's lighting knowledge will start to filter in to the VW brand with some nice DRLs. I'd like a much better MFD as well. I think they'll start to get higher resolution with better clearer graphics, and the touch screen radio needs a big graphical overhaul.

Pretty old! That came out mid 2010 and is a Dutch spoof.

If this happens, let's hope it'll be limited to the DRLs. Audi's LED's are worse than their xenons, which in turn are worse than a good set of halogens (although Audi's halogens might not be any better than their xenons).

Edit: At least the halogens in Audi A4 are about as good as Fiat 500's i.e. crap. The picture is from a Finnish magazine, the dashed line represents the halogens and the solid line the xenons. The area inside the line is the area with 5 or more lumens of light. Good halogen main beams used to reach 200 m with a width of about two lanes.

Audi's LED eyebrows are awfull.

See they are using Viper to launch / attract you to the car again just like the IROC

I think Audi are the only company so far who've got it right. They're using it as a style feature to identify their car. It won't be long before other manufacturers work that out. Little lines of 3 or 4 lights look very aftermarket.

I have seen no firm info on Scirocco 4 which makes me suspect it will not be on sale in the UK until early 2014. Also I suspect the design will be evolutionary rather than revolutionary ie 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'.

2013 Scirocco facelift

Post by andrej »

Today I saw the 2013 version of Scirocco in a Polish car magazine and I must say that I'm disappointed. It looks horrible - like the new Passat. Here's the image from the magazine (I've found the same on the internet - here's the link to the article: http://nordschleifeautoblahg.blogspot.c ... ering.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;):

I have been planning to buy a Scirocco in spring 2013, but I should probably hurry up a little before the facelift comes out, as that is something that I definitely do not want. Do you think I will still be able to get the current Scirocco model if I order it at the end of this year? I'm asking because I've read somewhere on the forums that someone waited for his new Scirocco 4 months. And I'd like to buy a new one.

I wanted to see an earlier Scirocco in a similar pose to compare. Difficult to find the exact same view angle. This is a 2008 Scirocco:-

Image

Yes, I think I agree, to a certain extent. It is still a nice car, but I prefer the 2008 model, with its VW badge on the bonnet and a narrower grill opening just below the bonnet, as a result of no badge there. It might be a difference in the viewing angle, but the 2008 version appears lower all round at the front end. I think I even prefer the main grill too.

I also prefer the 2008 rear end, which appears to have been softened a bit in the 2013 model.

Remember that this is just a rendering. So for all we know, it may look completely different than this. Probably WILL look different than this.

I think this is how the 2013 Scirocco facelift will look like - I'm assuming so when comparing it with e.g. Passat CC facelift.

Do you like it? I still prefer the current Scirocco's look. I do not like this facelift. I will be ordering my Scirocco in November in order to make sure I still receive the current Scirocco model.

That photoshop pic has been knocking about for a while now. I neither like nor dislike it. its just someones idea of a facelift, but if they lower it ,it could look good in the flesh. i'd like them to toughen it up a bit when then they actually facelift it.

Looking at VW Golf, where MK4 has the lowest ground clearance, I don't think they will lower the next Scirocco. Anyway, the changes made to the CC, made me so happy that I purchased the Scirocco MK3. I'm very pessimistic regarding the look of the future Rocco.

Has it been confirmed the ROC 2013 will look like the below? Anyone have ROC 2013 already? I get mine Sep 15th from the dealer. I was just wondering if it will have the facelift with the LED as I love them

Cheers - Joe
