This was not the case before but the Nav being standard seems to have confused issues. He said sometimes on nav units they would put the changer in the arm rest, but then you lose the iPod connection.

He's calling back to clarify the implications of the Dynaudio upgrade now the Nav is standard.

There definitely seems to be some confusion over the stereo. My original spec was the RCD510 with Dynaudio and DAB. Now if you go on the VW site and spec Dynaudio you get the RCD510, instead of the RNS315, which is fine as i dont like the look of the 315. But the dealer said the RCD510 is no longer available (he emailed me his price list to confirm), so I've decided to upgrade to the RNS510 with Dynaudio instead (although I now can't have DAB), But as I'm getting the money back for the leather I don't mind paying the extra for the stereo.
Heck. Its getting awfully confusing. I think it will be a lottery as to what you eventually end up getting :D

Right so ive opted for a GT with leather, Sound pack, Alloys, sensors, xenons, cruise, folding mirrors and black alloys. So if im reading right they will now minus the leather option from my total pice as it is now standard?? Meaning ill save £1750?

Any help would be great...

That's what my dealer told me, but as I didn't want the std sat nav, I've upgraded to the DVD sat nav, which will come out of some of the money I'm saving on the leather.

I guess that seriously de-values my Rocco in the future. The joys of owning a new car eh .. Am I allowed to feel a little bit deflated ?

Leather as standard is completely taking the ****.

They've done it with some of the golf models too (like wigits ed35). A shame in my opinion as it'd really put me off as I'm not a fan of leather seats at all.

Maybe the perceived competition from the upcoming gt86/brz?

He has now got back to me on my !.4 ordered model - my £1230 negotiated discount will still be honored and I will get a £770 refund for the now standard sat-nav and MF steering wheel.

He is also investigating whether I will also get £420 back as the model price has dropped but I see from some posts that this is perhaps unlikely?

Still - £770 cheaper on top of a £1230 discount is what I call a RESULT!!

0% finance would (to me) would have been a better option rather than dramatically upgrading spec.

I'm not that bothered about leather seats but it's certainly a selling point. Might just have to haggle far more strongly in three years time when it comes to an upgrade.

Ps Great site, thanks for all the info.

Thanks for that Starshaped - so what's different on the suspension then?

Don't think it can be that because the ACC is / was an option on the 1.4 122PS base model.

Thanks for the reply - I will just have to wait and see what VW say on the reduced price and whether I will get it!

It's about time we got the r-line in the UK when it's been available on the continent for quite some time now!

Seems as though VW do this type of spec change when they begin running out the model (look at the mk5 Golf). Scirocco 4 coming up? Hope not just yet!

Nah, Free leather is a classic run out upgrade for VW, mk4 golf GT, mk5 golf GT/GTI, mk6 golf GTD/GTI, mk5 Passat sport, mk6 passat sport/highline, pre facelift tiguan, pre face lift EOS all gained this festure in the last 18 months of their respective lives.

The R line trim is more curious as an introduction having been around for quite a while, testing the market for another trim level next time round perhapse?

This all sounds good news, read on a site there were to be light changes both internally and externally, anyone know what these maybe?.

Re: Scirocco R Line now on VW UK site

Right folks, a little heads up on what I have heard from my dealer and found out from the website.

Firstly I had ordered the Dynaudio upgrade with the 510 stereo. As the standard spec is now the 310 stereo with nav, if you add Dynaudio you lose the 310 and get the 510, but you also lose the sat nav. If you want sat nav and Dynaudio you have to pay and additional £755 (you paid £440 for Dynaudio and now the sat nav, 510 stereo and Dynaudio is £1,195, so you need to pay the difference, or forget about sat nav). This is from my dealer.

Next, black leather is now standard. If you add the winter pack (which I have ordered) it says it's not available with black leather, so if you add the winter pack you have to have the beige 2 tone leather. No choice.

Next, if you add the winter pack and accept the 2 tone leather (which I would not do) it says this leather is not available with Candy White paint (which I have ordered).

The whole thing seems a complete mess. I spoke to my dealer today who also said my car no longer has a build week on the system (it was 23), he was going to go away and find out why but my guess is VW have seen my spec can not be made and put the order on hold till they can figure it out.

I am fast losing patience with VW over a car I ordered the first week of Jan for delivery end of May. Over 3 months on I do not know what I am getting, and more importantly have no clue when I will get it, my guess is end of July the way things are going.

I'll be complaining to my dealer tomorrow that he did not inform me of the winter pack/leather/paint issue, and I'll also be writing to VW directly to complain. It's getting to the point where my order will be cancelled.
