I used to but there's so many on the roads now I don't bother.

I must see 1 or 2 a day now.

Agreed. I'm starting to see a lot of middle aged wifey's driving them on the school run... :eyepop:
agree they are not all enthusiasts, i'm sure in time this will change when 2 year old cars are at price levels which may start to make them attractive to the VW faithful, its also frequenting a lot of company car lists in tdi format for those who want to look cool who no doubt aren't all enthusiasts either but don't want to have a mundano

mk5 GTI seems to have attracted the enthusiasts element but has been established longer (mk6 is in a similar dilema), old dear round by me drives a red Ed30 and it does make me smile

i'd defianetly give a wave to R owners given the repsect for spending £30k on a car you haven't driven, hats off to you :D

HAHA, you guys make me laugh.

At first, I was like there's another scirroco and waved or flashed, but nothing :-(

Then I thought, how sad it was when bikers go past each other and they do that head bowing thing, so I gave up !! hehe

It does feel a bit pointless sometimes. I saw two Roc's on my way home tonight and I waved/thumbs up to both of them and no response. I was even along side one of them for about half a mile!

I was also ignored twice today. So now i won't be bothering at all. Come to think of it it is a mass produced car afterall and i really don't think it's that special that it belongs to some sort of exclusive club.

I've now had mine a month and to be honest i'm bored of it already. . .maybe i'll enjoy it more in the summer (if we get one),

I've also given up. Passed a black 2.0 TSI at the weekend and gave my horn a cheery "toot-a-toot-toot". The guy looked at me like I was an alien...

At first maybe, afterall in August I got a flash but since nothing. Its a common seen car now and I think were daft to think its rare or belongs on a higher stage.
Car shows for me to share the enjoyment more. However this does not mean I`ll shun a flashed Roc

Other than that, my hands are staying on the wheel when I see one

Other than the three or four guys local to me who I know are on here, I've given up!

There are loads of Roc's appearing around south Staffs at the moment but none are 'wavers', 'flashers' or 'users' (of this forum).

I think most are purchased as a 'funky' alternative to the Golf, the perception of VW quality with a bit of flare thrown into the mix.

Thought I'd bump this one. A driver of a white roc flashed us as he passed us at traffic lights. Brand new 12 reg with the biggest grin I've seen on a face for a long time.

To be honest, 8 out of 10 times they do look and smile, if on the motorway, cruise at a nice pace, get a flash or hazard, but then again today i was driving back from Luton, a rising blue tdi just didn't bother lol

I used to wave when the Roc was very new, but now most of them just seem to 'blank' me. :(

I had that with my a3 it was when audi just started with white cars LED's and black wheels the amount "must be a dealer" comments I had was unreal. People shouldn't judge, I work hard, don't throw my money at going out on the weekends drinking smoking and gambling so I buy nice things. Quite simple really!

Same here buddy, I'm 23 and got the roc a couple of years ago and had the same response. My reply is "I work my arse off for the stuff I have!!"
