Spacers selection for Scirocco R

Post by robbieredknapped »

Hi Guys, I just after some opinions on spacers on the Scirocco R with 19" Black Talladega OEM Rims. I am to get some H&R springs to lower the car a bit and H&R spacers to fill this gap in the wheel arches. I am not sure the size of the spacers to go for on the stock 19" rims. I am thinking 16mm for the front ( 8mm each side) and 24mm for the rear ( 12mm each side). Wonder if anybody has any experiences with H&R spacers , please share your suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Do they do black Taladegas for the scirocco now ?, also I would lower it but wouldn't be putting spacers on it.

Is there a reason why you wouldn't use spacers? Personally i wouldn't like to use spacers, but i dont want to change rims due to extra cost, and the the factory 19"s has ET42 i believe, just seems to sit inside the guard too much for my liking hence the spacersto push it out a little.

Not sure why you'd need to pull rims out, ET42 with 8mm spacers would rub the wing lips at full compression.

Are sure the black Talledegas are OEM? Golf R Talledegas are a different offset (ET50), so you'd need different spaces.

I can tell you now that ET42 with 12 mm spacers doesn't rub and that is with 8.5 inch aftermarket 19 inch rims and 245x35 tyres.

Standard Scirocco R has 19x8 with a 41 ET.
I don't have any pics right now but the standard rims (Hyper silver or black) will look really good with 8mm front and 12 mm rear.
As to filling out the guards... it is a visual thing... it does work though.
