Faulty interior door handles

Post by happymum67 »

Hi everyone
Was just wondering if anyone else has this problem?
When I shut the doors inside, the grab handles make a really irritating crinkly noise. The same when pushing them when exiting the car? I can squeeze the handle and it makes the same noise. Its that anoying I paid the dealers a visit.Got a few strange looks with a new scirocco door open in the showroom and squeezing the hell out of it. I didnt have the roc with me at the time but its going in for second service next week so they having a look then? I expect they will be replaced under warranty.
Anyone come across this before??
Cheers,Iain

You mean a plastic on plastic noise?

I get this but it doesn't bother me as I've assumed it's just parts of the handle touching each other.

Sort of.Like the inside of handle not a solid compound. Had it a while and its really starting to annoy now. Not apparent in showroom model though so must be a fault?

I think I know what you mean. Mine does a similar thing. It's like the interior handles are in two pieces and the front could in clip if you squeeze it?? Makes a creaking noise

Update now cars been for service. Davy Hayes, the service manager at Verve,Glasgow very helpfull. I let him hear the triangular door handle squeaking as you open and close it???? We took a walk round the forecourt,09 plate tdi does the same. 10plate 2.0 leather and pan roof waiting to be serviced does the same. He will try and order just the handles,if not then its the whole door card. Brand new one in showroom didnt do it. Now I know I am not the only one with this problem. Surely there is more on this forum???? Go out and try it,then squeeze the handle? Emailed VW UK,they said its not a recognised problem but hope Verve can sort for me.

No can't say I have heard of this issue, and I have an 09 plate so one of the early models. Does not seem to be a common problem.

Glad it's sorted, I remembered what you said the other day when I was in mine but could not reproduce the creaky handles - just as well as my warranty is out now.
