200 or 210 BHP ??

Post by too hot »

I`ve seen that the later model Sciroccos have 210 bhp as opposed to the earlier 200bhp.
Can anyone tell me what the differences are/if any ?
Is the higher output engine a new engine or just tuned differently ?
Of the two which one is more tuneable?
I`m asking as coming from the MK5 GTI I know the Edition 30 GTI has a different turbo and revised engine internals.
Which makes it good for nearly 300bhp on a simple remap.
Is the same applicable to the Scirocco ?
If not what would be required to attain approx 300 bhp from a Scirocco ? ;)

To get 300bhp from the GT you would be needing a bigger turbo like the k04 from the S3/ED30/R etc, the 210 will be pretty simillar to the 200 in tuning terms IMO

i had 289bhp on an honest dyno on Revo stage 2 (same dyno the Pirelli clocked up 300bhp) on stock intercooler, ITG and Milltek non res tbe, factor in an intercooler upgrade and the bigger ITG will be knocking on the 300 barrier but thats it (fueling is not the issue just the IHI turbo runs out of legs), also power delivery is nothing like the K04 motor as it delivered more torque

200hp engine is the same as the MKv GTI the 210 is the later engine similar to the Mkvi GTI.
