They seem to have adopted tactics of higher valuations online to suck you in.

Billymac: CAP is another Glass'/Parkers clone for pricing used cars, except it's even more harsh and pessimistic than Glass' (generally 8-10% lower than Glass') and it's for trade eyes only. When I got my my Roc last year, my old Roc was part ex priced at £17k in Glass' but only £15600 in CAP. One dealer I went to priced mine as CAP and based the deal on that, and the other dealer priced as Glass' - guess which dealer I bought the new car from?

Yes Ive spoken to a few folks who have said that and Im not surprised. Good thing is there is literally nothing that they could pick up on my car, there is not one scratch or stone chip on it. I might try them just for a laugh to see if they do offer it.

Spot on advice that one. When negotiating I don't think about what I'm getting for my old one, it can adversely affect how you're negotiating because you're focussed on what your car's worth (to you) rather than the overall deal. The figure to focus on is how much you're going to pay them in pound notes to drive off in the new car.

True, that is what Im getting hung up on. In my case the cars Im looking at are pretty much the same value or cheaper in fact and they are likely to stay the same or even increase in price hence why I am considering the WBAC option.

There are far better companies out there than WBAC, do a search on google, i tried all of them and they varied quite a bit and dont all operate the same way, there was one that promises to pay the quote given online, from trying all of them i came to the conclusion you would have to be nuts to sell to WBAC!

These are my quotes from 'those' types of companies, as you can see..WBAC is the lowest, and you can expect them to knock that down further. ( 58 plate '09 GT spec in viper green DAB, Dynaudio 28,500 miles )

Currently in the process of trading my car in, the dealer originally offered me £12,500 (09 2.0 Scirocco TSI 25.5k miles white) I was aiming for 13k, so they took £500 off the car i'm getting, going to try and sell the car private if possible, I have 3 weeks before the trade will take place. Scirocco for sale anyone lol?

Picked up a nice 2008 audi s5 same sort of miles as the rocco, fuel economy might be a bit differet......
