Replacing R Interior
Hi All,
I am aware that there are probably numerous other posts regarding this subject but i am new on here and not totally au fait with how to find things yet.
Anyway I have a Roc R with the cloth/suede interior and want to upgrade to leather. What are the options available? Do I just keep looking on Ebay for suitable replacements or is there other options available? I dont really want to go down the aftermarket re-upholstery option if possible...
Thanks

Check ebay, from time to time you can find really nice stuff there:

Re: Replacing R Interior
Thanks for the replies, i thought that the leather might be stock (with 'R' embossed headrests) but even that is difficult to find! I will take a look at the links and work out some translations (and whether i have the cajones to buy something that expensive from Germany...)

Re: Replacing R Interior
Hi,
I have found some deals on eBay.de that are quite reasonable. Issue is that they obviously are set up for l/h driver and so the electrics would be on the passenger side. This is an inconvenience rather than I problem (I think) but how easy/difficult is it to fit those electrics and is it possible to do so on the wrong side?
Cheers.

Re: Replacing R Interior
Well, after long deliberation I decided to go for the ebay germany route and am awaiting delivery of a set of leather rear split seats and a pair of the Recaro 'R' front bucket seats. Set me back a pretty penny but hopefully worth every penny and still cheaper than speccing as a new option! I am just nervously waiting for them to be delivered now...
The dealing with the german ebay sellers has been surprisingly easy so far... Will post some photos (if ) when they arrive.

Fantastic choice man, I'd give my right arm to get hold of a set of OE Recaro's.

Re: Replacing R Interior
Can anybody help please? I have taken out my front seat to replace it with a recaro and there are 3 cables (1 thick 2 smaller) plugged into the car from my originals and only the one thick cable from the recaros. Do i ignore the ones the recaro doesnt have or am i going to get an error from the ecu when i start up?
Thanks,
Adam

Adam

Re: Replacing R Interior
One of the smaller connectors (the larger of the two) is the side cushion airbag trigger connection. So it will show an airbag failure.
Plus there is a risk to the seat airbag going off if you accidently discharge any of your body static electricity across the contacts or from another source. So this connector needs to be immediately covered with tape on the seats loom connector.
The other small connector I think is the "bum on seat "sensor. As it is normally open circuit, that should be OK.

All plugged in and I put the battery back in and got an airbag fault and an ESP fault. I took the new seat out and put the old back in but am still getting the faults. What can I do now?
Thanks

Re: Replacing R Interior
For a start, VCDS and clear the stored fault codes. Then let the systems settle down again.
Your risk to drive.

Re: Replacing R Interior
Fair enough. This photo shows the different wiring on the bottom of the seats.
This photo shows the seats in and i think you will agree they look great. (shame about the flippin codes)
