Blue/ anyone

Bluetooth was the thing I didn't end up choosing as I was told that iPhones went compatable
And I will be after getting my hands on it.
What are the steps to fit it? Is it simply plug and play??or will VAGCOM be needed?

Cheers

When you ordered it probably want compatible, but it is now with the new units, as mick put its just a matter of routing cables around the car, plus programming the module with VCDS

What's iirc? Do you have a link to the one being sold for the red mfd and does it work exactly the same as your version?

VW 9W7 Bluetooth KIT

Post by k.ackah »

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about buying this VW 9W7 Bluetooth KIT for the RCD 510 radio.

I have a 2010 Scirocco and want to make sure that this model would work.

This is what i'm getting
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-9W7-Blueto ... 567wt_1270" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also has any one installed one before? How easy is it to do?

Thanks

K

Hey guys,

Can someone please do a quick how to?

Also, I'm worried by car isn't bluetooth prepped. How do I check?

I'll buy it tonight and try and fit this weekend if its easy to do.

Thanks

What do you mean by Bluetooth prepped ?, does your car have bluetooth ?, if not then it wont have any of the parts needed so you will need to buy the full kit, also it will possibly need VCDS coding, do you have a cable ?

Hi Shaun,

I don't have bluetooth. I've got a 2010 with RCD 510 without bluetooth.

I am not sure which cable you're talking about.

Thanks

Shaun is refering to one of these cables used to plug into the Scirocco's diagnostics socket which combine with VCDS software will allow you to encode the unit into the car's controllers. Until that is done, it won't work.

Hi,

Thanks for clearing that up.

I wondered if you guys could give me advice on which bluetooth system to go for.

Ideally without having to replace or change my current system.

Sounds to me like i will need to spend alot to get the RCD 510 up to spec to work with the VW bluetooth system.

I don't know alot about this and your help/advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
