Just got back from dealers. Good news. Although he couldn't hear the rattle, he is going to fit the spring clip for me next week "as it's only 30p"! One happy ROC owner here.

Had the wastegate clip fitted yesterday. No question - it works. I might have heard a tiny tinkle once - but hey - I was listening for it all day and the music wan't on at all...

I would say a 95% fix - minimum

Had the clip fitted today, Technical Bulletin 2021062/7 now /8 (wonder what the difference is between /7 and /8 is ?) works! With the window down, I can just hear the rattle occasionally - but it is at least 90% quieter. Why did it take VW so long to sort this out? Hurrah! :)

Well I've just nagged my stealers and it seems they never ordered one for me. Strange that because my service receipt said that they had! They do however now have stock of them so it's booked in for next Tuesday first thing. Over the phone I had to explain it all AGAIN which is rather frustrating but hopefully next Tuesday I shall be rattle free.

.... and it's not been done :grumpy: Wrong part number on job card, warehouse sends correct part but stealers send it back because it doesn't match the order  So, it's now on overnight parts order to be fitted tomorrow morning. One trusts the things aren't on back order again!

It states no production change. So :shake: unless VW have second thoughts.

I wonder if this doesn't affect all cars as I don't have this issue?

There are no limitations to its coverage. Skoda have issued their own last week.

   Yay! I am now rattle free :D

What a difference it is too, I really really detested that noise and now it's just a joy accelerating and hearing it sound as it should. Brilliant and I can't thank RW1 enough for his help on this. If we ever meet up then the beer is on me mate!

jonosussex wrote:It is a very distinct tinkling sound (almost like pinking) which comes can be heard between 1800 - 3000 revs, particularly when accelerating (i.e. making the turbo work). The exact range seems to vary car by car. Mine is worst from 2500-3000. It is not massively loud, but I can just hear it over the radio and it is an annoying feature.
