DSG box tinkle...

Hi all - looking for opinions/views here.

I am new to DSG, used to have a 2.0 TSi manual and have just bought brand new 2.0 TSi with DSG. I have noticed that I get a tinkling noise (rattle is too strong) between 2600 and 3000 revs - particularly when accelerating from 3rd - 4th and 4th - 5th. It almost sounds like pinking (anyone remember that?)

Dealer tells me it is a known issue with the 2.0TSi on a DSG box - just wondered if anyone else had the same thing? Its not that noticeable - in fact sometime I hardly hear it.

Are you sure this is to do with the DSG box?

This sounds remarkably like the 2.0 TSI 'Wastegate Rattle' that is so widly reported on here. (I suffer from it too).

Have a quick search on here for "Turbo Wategate Ratttle" or something similar and see if what others have said is what your experiencing.

If not then I'm not too sure to be honest.

Part must be about due at the UK dealer part departments as its turning up elsewhere.

Why oh why they are not fitting it into production.

Thanks for the info chaps wastegate rattle sounds like my problem. Have written a lengthy e-mail to the dealers using your information Lets hope I get some action....
