The new Engine coding should be: 0403000C18070160

According to the coding information of the 16 module, CCS with the TS stalk should be: 1082140000

-Or-

CCS with the 3rd stalk (separate stalk) would be: 1082240000

Direct from Dana at Ross-tech who came up with the coding based on a log of the modules, i confirmed the codes are the same as those generated by the long coding helper.

So once again, no need to do any daft manual inputting of codes, just use the latest version of the software and the long coding helper.

I will be fitting mine tomorrow. Will take some pics along the way with new camera. Checked coding with current set up, and it threw the expected error, so happy with that, it shows it works.

I'd better check it out then as I'm fed up waiting for the Master Tech to come over. What is it a couple of torx bolts a friggin' great nut and a hammer?

DAR when I fitted the stalks on a Golf GTD the stalks where held on by 2 T6 torx screws, 1 at the lower front and 1 underneath going upwards once they where undone the stalks just come off.

I cannot understand why 2 large shear bolts had to come off???

Darren, its stokey from the MK5 site.

The ignition barrel clips into the stalk assembly, and then attaches to the steering column. You cannot get the Stalk assembly off the column, because the ign barrel sits in the stalk.

I will take a pic, of the removed stalks.

I'm stil not convinced you need to change the control module. My factory one will take a Cruise coding.

Could you not just have fitted the stalk?

You used the same coding in the new module as the old one?

My factory fitted SW Module was a D version.

According to Etka it does not support 8T2 (Cruise control), the H version does.

I did not want to take apart and try twice.

Did you not look at the module coding before you went and ordered the part? Don't believe averything you read in ETKA.

Andy,

I did look at the coding, and it threw an error up. That may have been due to no switch, and the module not supporting it!

I am now intrigued, and my wish to find out is gaining in strength, i will take the SW off later and fit the D version.

Back into the garage we go, all in the name of progress!
