2010 Cruise Control

Post by mike-p »

I've just ordered the kit to enable cruise on my 2010 Roc, but VW can't fit it as they don't have the codes to enable it!

So I either have to get an indy to fit it and do the coding, or fit it myself and code it with Vag-Com.

Decisions decisions.........

Mike,

Wk09/10 is beyond the VW Accessories Brochure kit retrofit (cut off is at Wk44/09 and before).

Week 45 build complete Sciroccos 0nwards ....... look here and here.

I hope this is what you got ordered to do it as a "kit" of parts.

The stalk and ecu were matched specifically to the car (March 2010) by the VAG parts manager, these are components needed for cruise on a 2010 vehicle.

I will get them fitted by a VW master tech and then code the car using Vag-Com, which is what all the companies who retrofit cruise to 2010 vehicles do, as the cruise coding is available on 2010 vehicles with cruise fitted from the factory.

Quite why VW haven't released the codes to their own dealers is anyone's guess.

Its only an issue with the ECU coding form what i could see?

On my R i could enable the Cruise stalk with the MFSW, but couldn;t do it on the ECU as the long coding wasn;t available for the ECU in my car.

Will be easily doable manually though.

Andy,

What is the part number in "VAG Number" field and the "Soft Coding" field numeric before/after its switched by the MFSW method on the "Open Controller" screen for Controller 16.

Pretty simple really.

As stated earlier, there is no long coding helper data for my R ecu, so the coding owuld be blind, but it should be easy enough, need to contact ross-tech and see if they could help with the coding.

Here's a shot of the ECU screen.

Well after some scanning, updating to 10.6.1 and a couple e-mails to Ross-Tech, it is 100% possible to code Cruise to a late car.

Just need to get a stalk now. :)

Which controller/modules do you have fitted to the car currently?

I need to pull the cowlings off and have a look at what is there, as the coding indicates that i only need a stalk as the module can take the cruise coding.

Updated ETKA to Update 825 lastnight, and it was misleading with regards to the parts required and PR numbers etc,

When I get home on Friday I'll sort the part numbers out. A mate who is a parts manager for Audi sorted the right parts out based on my VIN No. It consists of a slip ring controller and the new stalk set.

Sub £200 for both parts, inc VAT. Do you have the Ross tech codes? I bought the parts, as above a few days ago, and just need the coding.

Also need to find the time to fit!

You don't need codes, its all there in the long coding helper in VAG-COM.

Here are the details from Ross Tech:

You may want to try using the Coding-II function in 01-Engine to enter a
value of 11463. This should activate cruise control while a value of
16167 should de-Activate it.
