Hi All
Need some help/advice..
I have a 2.0TSI Manual (Not DSG)
Contacted my local VW dealer asking if they could top up my Gearbox oil and they said it couldnt, becuase its a sealed unit!
Is this true?, and dosent Gearbox oil eventually evaporate?
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm stuck here and I dont want the dealer to miss something off my second service...
Thanks

Re: Gearbox oil top up
If you can find no leaks or wetness around areas like the drive shaft entry points. Then it is sound.
From my experience, the oil doesn't evaporate. If the level is down in a gearbox with these types of gear oil, then there is a leak.
The oil doesn't feature in the Service Schedule for the manual gearbox at anytime during the car's life/mileage.
