Just for clarity, I wanted to check the two items listed on the site to purchase - the kit is all you would require to install the camera on the car if you have the RNS510, nothing extra will be required?

If you mean from Kufatec :
The kit has all the parts that you need for the installation (camera, cable, support bracket & the holder).
The other option is to buy only the cable from Kufatec and all the other parts from VW dealer.

Hi,
You have two options :

1. You can keep 1K8 980 551 camera (Scirocco's OEM camera) and buy Kufatec's cable:
http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info ... n-Low.html
(3M1 970 161 AC Video cable does't exist. That's mean the cable for rear camera is included on an Master Central Cable on Scirocco...and to get the rear camera cable you need to change this master central cable)

OR

2. Replace your camera with 5K0 980 551 camera (Golf's OEM camera) and buy 5M1 970 161 AC (Golf's OEM Video cable)
5M1 970 161 AC is just a video cable. In this case you need extra custom made loom for a 12v+ switched live, earth and reverse pick-up feed.

In both cases remember that you also need : 3W0 807151: End Cap & 3W0 807 210: Support

P.S. Your Polo looks very nice Ben

So if I get the Kufatec I need to modify it? Can You please tell me where exactly (colour etc.)? Or it's ok as it is in order to get video? End cap and support have been ordered this morning! :)

You don't need to modify Kufatec's cable, it's ok right now.
The old problem with the wrong order of the connector's wiring is already fixed by them.

Thanks!
Glad to help you Ben :)

About the installation check my instructions to Bianco in the previous page (just forget the correction of the connector's wiring).
Everything must be the same for your Polo. I don't know if your reverse signal is also on PIN28 of brown BCM, but it is easy to check it.

For any further assistance, just ask me

Ok! I'll bring to my mechanic what You described here as the Bible: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 220#p82991" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (is it the right one?)

Meanwhile thanks again and KALISPERA!

Yes, this is the right post.

Happy to help you my friend.. Buona notte :vibes:

P.S. i forgot to ask you before.. Your Polo has RNS510 or RCD510 installed ? Because if you have RCD, you have to check if it has the 26pin video connector on its rear side..

Anyway with that camera (1C8...) I don't need any extra control unit, am I right? Just connect the harness to the RNS, or not?

And which of the screens reported here, http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 220#p84702" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, I'll get?

You are right Ben, no control unit is needed for this camera.
Just connect the video cable to your RNS, the other three wires (+12V , ground , reverse signal), make the VCDS coding and finally reset your RNS.
Then you will have this screen whenever you select the reverse gear
Image
Note : Car on the left side of the screen is shown only if you have parking sensors in your car

If I purchased the kit from Kufatec, is there anyone in the NW of England that could do the installationon my Rocco. Looks a bit too involved for me.

Willing to pay the going rate obviously.
