A strange thing happened to my Roc yesterday. Went shopping (about 6 miles away) and noticed the DPF Regen had started, nothing unusual as I had been driving around town for much of the previous week. Came back from shopping and it was still doing it on the way home. Next day I dropped the wife at work and noticed the Regen was still going as it had not cleared. Same when I got to work. Finished work this afternoon switched on the ignition the yellow Engine Management light was on drove the car home and a couple of miles from home the DPF light beside it came on. Also the engine was still trying to Regen the DPF. Stopped the car at home and restarted Engine Management light still on DPF light off.
Phoned dealer who suggested doing the usual 2-2.5k revs, light throttle for 15min on motorway/dual carriageway. Tried that DPF light stayed off, Engine Management light still on and still trying to do a Regen.
Going in tomorrow to get hooked up to diagnostics. Hope it is only a sensor or something.

Re: DPF problem
Maybe G450 have broken like in my Scirocco, I had older version with 03G 906 051A which very often broke down. Actual number is 076 906 051A

Re: DPF problem
Took car to garage today and the problem seems to have been a faulty sensor which had kept the DPF Regen active. Going to give it a good run tonight.

Re: DPF problem
That's good news Digiman.
Does the diesel scirocco suffer from a lot of DPF issues? Having searched the forum there doesn't seem to be a lot of people complaining about it, which I take to be a good sign, but other web sites seem to suggest that it can be a royal pain in the ****. However, these seem to be talking about the PD engines, and not the CR that comes in the scirocco.

Re: DPF problem
I don't think there are a lot of DPF issues My car has nearly 31000k on the clock and this is the first I have had.
It can be a bit of a pain if you do a lot of short journeys as you become aware of the DPF Regen in action (increased tickover at idle, kind of burning smell and even the issue of having to take it for a run on light throttle at highish revs to clear it out). The price you pay for a cleaner exhaust. Given the choice I would have preferred if the car didn't have a DPF.

Re: DPF problem
Unfortunately I do several journeys each week that are less than 2 miles, and walking isn't an option. I do get at least 1 good run a week of more than 10 minutes of motorway cruising so hopefully this won't be too much of a problem.
Just seems to me that the DPF technology hasn't really been thought out very well if you end up having to take the car for another journey to clear it out. I also think that having had the choice, I would rather have a car without the DPF.

Re: DPF problem
Don't think you will have much of an issues if you have a good run once per week. One thing is if you floor the throttle you tend to overfuel the engine and on a car without a DPF you get a cloud of black smoke. In a car with a DPF this smoke (soot) is collected by the DPF. So if you only scoot around town you may start to clog the filter, but the only time you need to take it for a run to clear it out is when the yellow DPF light comes on.

Re: DPF problem
I had the engine management light come on last Wednesday had a decent run out around 100 miles round trip next day the light had gone out. Took it to a mate whos a VAG specialist for a quick diagnostics test and brought up a DPF error code and DPF pressure sensor error code.
Done fair few miles since, went to Leeds and back Friday 200 miles then again on Sunday, jumped in last night and engine management light came back on.
Done a bit of research in meantime and the parts dept keep in stock a fair few presure sensors and turn over a good amount so must be a common fault. Looked into doing the DPF delete but aftermarket wise milltek etc only seem to list delete pipe for the 170. Spoke to a bloke whos fair clued up on remapping etc and he was saying a lot of the tuning companies who offer to do the mod are basically deleting all kinds of error codes to remove the DPF recurculation feature from the ECU as its hard to hack into and delete each individual code. Therefore if down the line say a injector goes down you would have no idea
Anyone done the DPF delete on a 2.0tdi 140 and which company did you use?
