Thinking about a Roc as a replacement for my broken...

Post by biffarino »

... '11 Polo GTI. Long faulty DSG story, but in short, I have been offered a replacement car from VW and was thinking about the 160. Do the 160s come with with ACC as standard? Trying to find info on it seems that some say it does, while others say it was only standard for a short time. Not a deal breaker, just curious.

I have a 2.0 at the moment as a loan car while Polo is dead and can't say I notice a massive difference in the damping with ACC, but the steering weight is notably heavier.

Looking to keep options minimal, but what are the must haves?

It's odd. I did try that and it wasnt listed as an option. Then on the overall specs it says not standard on the 122PS, which sort of implie that its standard on the rest of the range. Then you look at the standard spec and it doesn't seem to be listed on any of the models.

What was the case? :hyper:

What about switchable traction control? Can you turn it off on the 160s. You could with the Polo, but once again, have read too many conflicting facts.

TCS can be disabled by pressing the ESP off button.
However ESP can not be fully disabled unless you've got a MY12 car, ESP off on pre MY12 cars deactivates traction control but leaves stability control active in a less restrictive "sport" programme.

One assumes that's the model designation, but is it the latest? It'll be brand new

MY12 covers cars built after mid June 2011, if you've not ordered then it's quite likely based on typical factory lead times that you'd end up with a MY12.5 (early nov onwards) car. That is assuming the car is not coming from stock.

On a UK specification 160 you won't get XDS (electronic dif lock) and can not specify it as an option which your polo GTI does have.
