Baby seat in a Scirocco R...?

Post by Octagon »

I have a Scirocco R on order and I need to fit a bay seat in the back suitable for a 2yr old. can anybody tell me a) will a baby seat fit in the rear seat and b) who easy/difficult is it to get a todler into the back and tyo secure her into the seat?

I live in Australia and we dont have any sciroccos here at the moment so i cant test it for myself. I have one on order for when they start importing them at the end of the year but i dont want to take delivery and find i cant get my daughter into the back. The Missus will kill me!

Thanks for your advice

Octagon,

Where in Australia are you - I'm in Perth, WA and shipping my Roc over from the UK next month - as far as I have read on this forum and the other UK Roc forum the rear 2 bucket seats have Isofix and you should have no problems with a childseat. If you are in WA - you could always bring your childseat over and we could try it !! Lol TJ

Isofix points for each of the 2 rear seats in the Roc, how easy to get into the back is a matter of opinion. If you're used to 3 door car rear access you'll find the Roc fine, no worse than a 3 door Golf. If you're used to 5 door cars, you might find it inconvenient.

I've had my mate and his 3 yr old a few times and my lift share's toddler every other day. The front seats move surprisingly far forward so you can maneuver a child and yourself in quite easily. My wife and I are expecting the begining of next year and I have already had the car checked out at mothercare to see if our chosen seat would fit, everything was good. Both seats that friends have put in were just held in by the seat belt but were easy to fit and remove, as has been said already there are Isofix points aswell. HTH

They fit fine, i now have the larger type in mine but the younger ones fit fine too, just pick ones with thinner basses so they fit into the bucket nicely, i have protected my seats with some padding also

We can easily fit two child seats on the back seat of mine - one is a VW Isofix for age 1 - 3 year olds, the other isa VW booster seat with removable back for when the child is older and only needs a boost in the behind.

Installing the Isofix is not a problem once you you have worked out the best "insertion route" through the doorway and around the seat (I turn mine on its side and then it goes in base-first like manoeuvering an L shape around the corner).

I love the Isofix system.
