Viper Green 1.4tsi mpg????

Hi all iv just had my scirocco a full week today from brand new im loving it im just wondering what mpg average people are getting ive done 200 miles and average 13.9mpg and thats with the mrs driving it more than me :-S ........ i had a quick blast and the motoway put my foor down in 5th for a couple of seconds then the mpg meter thingy said 4.6 :eyepop: is this normal????????

It shouldn't be that low. Mines on about 35mpg on average and that's not hanging about and with the mods. If it carries on like that I'd it to the dealer and ask them to have a look.

Mines about the same as deacon,35 abt town. 40ish at 89 on motorway. Houston,we have a problem

I think it's the fact that it's Viper Green, everyone knows they are the fastest ones !!

But seriously there is something wrong get it to the dealers

Don't confuse the Average mpg meter with the Realtime mpg meter. I suspect that the 4.6 reading is what the Realtime meter was showing as you floored it.
What mpg you actually get will depend upon your driving style, type of road etc. but on an urban run you should be getting 30+ once its warmed up.
Also its still new and tight until you've got 1500 or more miles under your belt.
