Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ordered my 2nd Scirocco mid May got a call to say it,s scheduled for week 26 build
I only ordered it this early as i was told it would be at least 5 months for a factory order. Tbh I am a bit shocked and a little bit annoyed too. I have spoke to dealer and he says it could still move on a bit yet as it is not confirmed but it won,t be a problem as they will keep it until September/October if it does turn up early.
There was me thinking it might be post week 45 build and it could benefit from any changes they decide to make around that time.

You're the first person I hear moaning that they get there car so soon! You can always tell them to hold the order back (and not submit it until whenever), which means you can still benefit from the changes (since it hasn't been confirmed at the factory then it shouldn't be a problem).

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Silver: Your dealer must have modified an existing order that had no allocated buyer to be getting a 6 week turnaround. 14 weeks to build from a brand new order is about the norm right now. Expecting many changes in the wk45 update?
Got my 2nd Roc on Tuesday - quite a difference to the early ones like I had, seems better screwed together too.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
He could have done I suppose but he knew my timescales and advised that it would be better to factory order now if I wanted September delivery as i was looking at 16 to 20 weeks for delivery. They supposedly checked what's available on VW's computer system first before saying it would have to be factory ordered so I went with their recommendationmaisbitt wrote:Silver: Your dealer must have modified an existing order that had no allocated buyer to be getting a 6 week turnaround. 14 weeks to build from a brand new order is about the norm right now. I don't know of any changes around week 45 but seeing as they have every year so far it seems obvious they will give things a little tweak here and there.
I was hoping they might add some led running lights at the front like the New Golf cabriolet will get so the auto headlights do what they were always supposed to do rather than driving around looking like a right knob in bright sunshine

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I know it might seem that way but when i am looking to change Sept/Oct when my present Scirocco is 3 years old,To be told it could be built after 6 weeks after I took their advice of 16 to 20 weeks for delivery it has thrown a spanner in my financial planning. I know this may also seem like adding insult to injury for some of you who have been waiting ages for your cars so I apologise if I added to your torturecornelce wrote:You're the first person I hear moaning that they get there car soon !
Don't get me wrong I am still as keen as the next person to get my new car as there is nothing quite like picking up a new car but I just want it when I was expecting it that's all

Car landed at Sheerness last Friday and still not arrived at the dealers. This is really going beyond a joke. My first and last VW me thinks.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Finally, this afternoon I got some good news from my dealer. He has the paperwork for the car and it should be with them no later than Wednesday. Pick up will have to be confirmed, he will phone me when it comes in so that I can go and see the car. Thankfully the dealer is just 6 miles away. Looks like it will be early next week to drive away. I've almost got a smile on my face.

About 19.45 on the A19 tonight heading south just past Sunderland, I saw a transporter full of VW's or should I say 3/4 full of Scirocco's in pretty much every colour!
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Mine has arrived at Leicester VW she's travelled down from Tyne so possibly she was on that transporter seen heading down the A19 Monday evening
Should receive a registration today so im looking at collecting her early next week hopefully. Ordered March 26th and here well within 12 weeks

I've just spoken with costomer services and they've confirmed my car is now in production , so at the moment it looks like it'll be on the Emden bound for the UK on the 23/6
