Stock radio to RCD

Post by NYHC »

Goodmorning all,
After 2 1/2 years of having the stock radio I got VW to install me the RCD.
In the stock radio I would usually just play music through my iphone's ipod using a cable going through the center armrest AUX IN to the iphone and there after just pressing the AUX button on the stock radio. For some reason I cannot find that feature on the RCD, no AUX button and when I press MEDIA it tells me no MEDIA has been found. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Much appreciated, thanks.

Do you not have the USB iPod cable that plugs in under the arm rest?

I have the same stock radio (RCD-310) in my Rocco and really want the RCD-510. May I ask how much VW took for the whole thing? The 510 and the installation etc?

If memory serves you need to enable the Aux in in one of the settings menus on the radio. btw the RCD-510 does not always come with the Media In. In the UK the Media In is standard with the RCD-510 on the Scirrocco but in South Africa the RCD-510 is an option but it does not include the Media In. You can have the Media In fitted by the dealer. The part number is here http://www.my-gti.com/688/
Ex - Rising Blue 2.0 TSi.
Current - Tornado Red Golf 7 GTi
