ACC Anyone actually notice the difference?

Had a play with this on my 2.0tsi and I actually can't feel a physical difference between the 3 settings?!?! Even tried driving down the same road with all three and I can't seem to notice anything different ? How much is this option if specced? £700 ish...... So not worth it IMO

in mine theres a clear difference between the three setting and a huge difference between sport and comfort!

Personally i would take the car to the stealers and get it checked out!

Yes I can definitely feel a difference, especially as mentioned above, between sport and comfort.

In sport you feel every little bump and the car doesn't lean much in corners. In comfort it's much more floaty and leans noticeably more in corners.

Normal is a nice compromise between the two for 'regular' driving but if I'm on the motorway I switch to comfort and for an A road blast I choose sport.
It's standard on the GT but I'm glad I've got it.

The only car it isn't standard on is the 122ps 1.4...

On the test drive I could certainly feel the difference as above also and in the short space of time i was in the car agree with the settings per road condition as Kev uses.

comfort to sport is VERY different on my R....especially when going round the 'ring. Was better in Normal than Sport round there IMO.

However I might try Sport later this month going round Bedford Autodrome.

Like you I really can't tell the difference, I have driven lots of cars with adjustable shocks am used to feeling the difference but really can't tell the difference on my car, took it back to dealer they assure me it is working properly.
suspect it is only a button that lights up and makes you think it is sportier

Kane/Scimitar: You must have consistently great road surfaces or special seat dampening to not notice the difference. The difference is huge between Comfort and Sport with 18" wheels and even more so with 19".

Found this on another forum but gives a good description of ACC (DCC) and how it might not be so easy to feel if its working as it takes allot of variables into the control system.

Even just going straight on a motorway, swapping between sport and comfort is very noticeable. In sport you'll find you feel every little bump, your head will jiggle about but flick over to comfort and it all goes away. It's a lot smoother.

best way to determine the damper setting changes imho, steering wise to a few laps of a route

Comfort - the engine revs at a much lower rate. On auto, it will upshift quite early. Steering is light and shock absorbtion is better.

Sport - drinks more fuel & the opposite to the above! The brakes are also more responsive. Too responsive!

Vw website just states that steering and suspension are altered nothing about throttle.


Also I have now decided I can feel the diff after an afternoon of testing lol so geeky!

Like above, yes it definitely feels different. Try going fast into a corner with comfort mode on instead of sport I prefer the tightness of the steering in sport mode but the comfort of the comfort mode, wish I could have them combined :s
