How long did you have to wait until VW gave you a build date after you ordered? I order mine a month and a half ago and still not word, but i was told i woudl have to wait 9 months, so i guess its abit early.

Dan
they do not automatically tell you all the information at every step of your order. If you want them to tell you anticipated build dates or to update you every week/two weeks on the progress of your order ask them to.

& Barry, get some pictures up!

Danf: 9 months!! That's the price for getting an R, I suppose. Have you tried phoning round dealers to see if there are any unsold ones already? 3 of my local VW dealers had unsold Rs because people got sick of waiting over a year for them and pulled their order, but the dealers got them in anyway.

Last month, Benfield Silverlink had a Rising Blue one, Pulman Sunderland had a Reflex Silver one and Benfield Newcastle had a black one. Might still have them in if you're wanting one in a hurry.

They told me about 2 weeks before the build week and blamed the double bank holiday for its extra delay but it was worth it in the end :D
