small black line across mfd

small black line across mfd

as the title says seem to have a black line across my mfd display. Its the old red one,is it a common thing? do i need to get it seen too?

I take it you mean a line of dead pixels . If so it's probably a new display required.

yeah sorry didnt explain it very well. Do you think they would give me the newer screen?

I doubt it, as its not just a screen swop that would be needed for that (i am assuming you mean the white screen).

yeah meant the white screen! Can they just swap the screens of does it have to be the full instrument cluster?

have spoken to vw today via email and they havent ruled out the possibility of not touching the screen at all! apprently a line of dead pixels isnt considered a fault. Got the car booked in for friday where they will plug it in a validate whether its a fault or not!

well good news VW are replacing the whole unit so im pretty pleased with that! not sure that it will be the white one or not but you cant get everything lol
