Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
AT LAST!!!! My car has eventually arrived in the UK and I expect to get it a week Saturday. It is only 7 months from order placement so lets hope it worth it. Good luck to all who are still waiting on the long deliveries from late 2010 and push for a loan car as I did.
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Yep looks like week 22 is going to be a busy one im off work that week so if its possible id love to get a quick flight out there and get to the factory for a few photos is that possible ?

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Am I right in thinking that my week 18 build car should be getting put together next week?
If so, I might get it before the end of May if i'm lucky.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Hi All,
Let me give you my sorry tale and the disgrace that VW is in general:
1, Ordered Deep Black 170 TDI GT on 2nd Sept 2010
2, Was told 12-16 weeks
3, Weeks went by and I heard nothing, no build date, nothing
4, I received an email from the dealer telling me that there was a massive over demand for Rocs and I was looking at Q1/Q2 2011 for delivery. They also assured me that after 16 weeks I would get a free hire car. Fair enough I thought.
5, The week of getting the hire car came and I was then told that the facility had been withdrawn by VW due to the fact that they had to give out so many cars due to the over demand problem.
6, I contacted VW customer services, who after almost two weeks came back and told me, not eligible for hire car
7, I have now been given an estimated delivery of early June so over 9 months since order
I decided to wait as it is such a nice car but:
1, Disgusting customer service
2, Promising a hire car and then withdrawing it with no apology or anything, I have since had to pay over £500 a month for a temp car
3, No financial compensation offered for the delay, nothing
In summary, VW as a company and its customer service are useless, Im sure they have angered a great deal of drivers over the Roc delays and thier arrogance to do nothing about it can only damage their brand loyalty in the UK.
So, if you are ordering a TDI 170, WATCH OUT

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Finglish sorry to hear it, and I realise this is probably not helping but I think it's mainly to do with your branch. They must of ran out of allocation slots but still took orders from customers. As for the hire car, I'd threaten them to cancel the order or something unless they stick to their promises and so on. Anyways, on the bright side June is not far, so just make sure you pester them and keep asking for updates etc.

Hi Finglish
Have a look at this e-mail I got from VW a few months ago.

Thank you for your recent contact in relation to the Scirocco GT. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response.
The lead time for this vehicle is 20 weeks from the date the factory receive the order. Obviously certain issue can effect the
lead time of your order, for example extra specification, high demand for the vehicle across the UK and Europe and build
allocation for the ordering retailer and model.
Volkswagen does support their customers if their order goes over this time by giving them a support vehicle until their order is
ready for collection.
Please note it is down to the ordering retailer to inform their customers of realistic time scales and any potential delays in
production. Also to keep them informed on a regular basis. Any issue with the ordering and lead time would need to be taken up
with the Brand Manager of the ordering retailer.
I hope this information proves useful.
Thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK.
Yours sincerely

At Last!!! Picked up my car today after a long 7 month wait. Had a 250 mile journey home and loved every minute. Called in at the services nr East Midlands on the way home and just stood and stared at its gorgeous lines in the car park. Good luck look to all who are waiting but its worth it in the end.

God I'm envious of all you lads n lasses with a build date. I ordered mine mid January. Ohh we have plenty of alocation says the dealer. Fibber !!! VW customer service confirmed accepted at the factory 29 April ( dealer had no alocation for 4 months. No build date. Expect October for delivery. 10 months thays 44 weeks. So much for the 16 quoted by the dealer. Disgrace.
Good job I didn't order DSG or DAB radio/ They won't see UK shores until 2012

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Did the dealer say there was a problem with the DAB option? I have ordered the DAB on my car (in March) and have had confirmation that VW excepted the order about a month ago, no build date yet though. I was under the impression that once the order was excepted it would be 16-20 weeks until delivery. I will be really upset if they cant supply the DAB, that was an essential option for me.stephen swain wrote:God I'm envious of all you lads n lasses with a build date. I ordered mine mid January.
