Do you wave/acknowledge other Rocs ?

Post by Drewcam »

Simple question really...

Do you wave at other Sciroccos when they pass you ?

The reason I ask is because when I was out yesterday a Roc driver waved at me when he passed in the opposite direction. Me and the wife have only had the car less then a month and this is the first time it happened.

So what's your take on this one.....do you wave or have you been waved at by other Roc owners ?

Only just taken delivery but waved/flash to all I meet & it's been 60/40 responders just winning so far (6 encounters).

I always wave/flash but get about a 30/70% response, nice when they do wave back though.

Having had Alfa's for the last 7 years its a habit to acknowledge other Alfas with an 80-90% response received, Scirocco on the other hand is pretty poor i've had probably 20-30% reaction with some looking positively surprised !!! I guess its an attitude/interest thing.

Oi, mines a company car and i'd wave if someone waved at me.... but they're driven by a lot of folks as you say, not just us company car drivers!!

Mmmmm....interesting.

I'v been on hoons and tours before with a few different makes of cars and have seen Lotus owners wave at each other before. I was actually suprised when another Roc waved at me, didn't expect it at all.

May start waving first to see what kind of reaction I start getting. Probably just get back the same as what I did when I got a wave....absolutly nothing :hyper:

i live in cannock, close to the chase forest. i think ( i am not an original native of cannock) if you flash your lights around here, it is associated with asking someone if they are interested in 'walking the dog together' ;) ....

in general i don;t because there are too many Rocs about.

I wave occasionally but I don't think I've ever got anything back.

I also feel a bit of a divvy doing it :)

I believe that is mainly in the area around the 'Chase' and usually after dark....

At least that's what i've heard.

I get some very funny looks when I flash Roccos. While flashing I'm also muttering ''lucky b******s'' under my breath. Think the funny looks come from the fact that I'm still driving my Volvo.

When I had a Ford Cougar several other Cougars flashed and were acknowledged.

Where's my Roc.

That's my experience as well.
Did seem to get a better response back a year or so ago - when the few that were on the road were mostly driven by Roc fanatics. But now they are quite common and I guess many owners just regard it as another car.

If it's modified, i'll give a thumbs up or whatever, if it isn't, I don't bother.

I do the same for most modded VWs if they don't look like chav machines.
