Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
you should ask your dealer to keep checking the network for cxld orders, I couldn't be bothered waiting on a Scirocco and ordered the Leon FR which was due in may. I kept an eye on cxld orders and took delivery of a Viper Green 2.0 Tdi GT on the 4th of March. Needless to say the leon was cancelled

you would have to ask the dealers to put you on their stock mailing list, I used JCT600, and Verve Wishaw. but you can use anyone you like, problem is you may not get the exact car you want but most of the time you'll get close and don't need to wait a year. for instance I orderd mine on the 27th of Feb and it was delivered by 4th march on an 11 plate, I'm sure it doesn't always work but it did for me

I take cash purchase (or loan) rather than lease?

Ordered on the 8th of Feb and as the retailer isn’t answering e-mails or phone calls I just spoke to VW customer services and I’ve been told order still hasn’t been accepted by the factory

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Been reading this forum for a while but now taken the plunge and ordered as a company car through a lease company. Their website shows the order being placed on 18th March, and an estimated stock date to them of 28/07/11 with then a week or 2 more faffing on the lease company's side before I get the car. Seems to fit in with timescales listed here.
I intend to try and track the car through VW rather than waiting on lease company to supply details to me. What pieces of info to allow me to track it should I be requesting from the lease company??

Hi NellyBauer
you need to get your comission number from the lease company so that you can speak to VW customer services for order progress. It may be difficult with the lease company as they would have to ask the 'dealer' who they have ordered through which will likely seem like too much work them but I believe it has been achieved once before.
the comission number is not the order number on the invoice from the dealer its the number of the order on the VW UK system.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Out of curiosity I e-mailed VW UK on Tuesday. Here's the reply.
Thank you for your recent contact in relation to the Scirocco GT. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response.
The lead time for this vehicle is 20 weeks from the date the factory receive the order. Obviously certain issue can effect the
lead time of your order, for example extra specification, high demand for the vehicle across the UK and Europe and build
allocation for the ordering retailer and model.
Volkswagen does support their customers if their order goes over this time by giving them a support vehicle until their order is
ready for collection.
Please note it is down to the ordering retailer to inform their customers of realistic time scales and any potential delays in
production. Also to keep them informed on a regular basis. Any issue with the ordering and lead time would need to be taken up
with the Brand Manager of the ordering retailer.
I hope this information proves useful.
Thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK.
Yours sincerely

So in reality he could be quoting my dealer Absolutely no idea.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I do find it slightly odd that customers seem to get different messages depending on who you contact...
VW Customer Services have told me that my order has been accepted and that it has a confirmed build week of 13.
My sales rep called me today and told me he had no updates! - "As far as he knows" the order has been accepted by the factory.
I've been less than impressed at the service so far and I'm betting that he hasn't even checked the computer system since the order was placed.
I'm just glad that I found this forum and discovered the COM number and the ability to get updates from VW customer service

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ordered mine 28th Dec, dealer has no build date yet. I've phone VW customer services a couple of times and have found them most unhelpful, just told me to contact my dealer. The last she said that they and the dealer look at the same information so they couldn't tell me any more than the dealer.
