My Scirocco has arrived....but without the M/F/W I asked for

Hi guys,

I've been lurking here for a while - I ordered my 1.4 160 Scirocco back in November, and it's finally arrived at the dealership - build week 09. Amongst other things, I specced it with a Multi-function wheel, and the colour MFD, but I've just been called by the dealer and told that whilst it's been fitted with the colour display, it also has the standard steering wheel on the car instead of the M/F/W.

They say the M/F/W can't be retrofitted - does anyone have any experience with this?

I've been told I either have to re-order the car and wait another 4 months (which I have absolutely no desire to do) or they'll work out some sort of compensation - which is the option I guess I'm going to have to settle for. So angry right now!

Multi function wheel can be added, there talking out there ar**, that said maybe its them that dont know how to fit it

Gutted. You can retrofit the M/F/W. But its expensive!

I am sure you can retrofit the MFSW. You will need to check the model number of your SW controller.

If you want a brand new R Steering wheel and airbag let me know.

for the mfsw, it needs the highline computer so depends if they have managed to miss that out as well...

He says he has colour display and i think thats only in highline

Yeah, it's just highline but in colour. The wheel they've fitted is the standard one without any controls on it - so you guys think the M/F/W can be fitted instead?

@182_blue - Thanks - just spoke to those guys and they've quoted £595 to get the wheel and fit, and say it's totally possible. Now to call the dealer...

See what just fitting is and buy DAR's nice R wheel , nice free upgrade

Got it all resolved after calling the dealer. They're getting hold of the MF wheel tomorrow and getting the company above to come down on Thursday and fit it.... all being well I'll be picking her up in about a week, which is the same date I'd already agreed. So a bit of hassle, but shouldn't be any delay to actually getting my Roc. Can't wait.

Cool, glad its sorted, amazing that VW have to get a company in to do it LOL

One thing i will add is get the dealer to write down what has happened for warranty reasons, just in case something goes wrong in the future and they make out you have added the wheel !.
