Re: Fire Extinguisher

Post by Malcolm »

Just for those that are interested - EVENTUALLY - and yes it was an arguement, (Service managed to get parts to order in the correct fog lights and stamp up a duplicate Service Book) I have been advised the Fire Extinguisher bracket is no longer available!

New lights all fitted and she's back to good working order, ditched crap LED side lights and strangely fitted some free blue W5W bulbs from AutoLightBulbs and they're pretty good. Hope they last better than the 2 sets LED's that burnt out (one probably because of water ingress to be fair)

What goes in the boot?

Post by eightyeightmph »

In good VW fashion, nothings comes free! In the boot there is two recesses with straps, one in the back panel & the other on the left hand side.

I was just wondering what they're for, or whats sold to go there? I'm guessing the long one in the back panel is a breakdown triangle, the other?

The pocket in the back corner takes a first aid kit 1K8 093 108 where the small straps are.

It is in the Scirocco's Controls & Equipment Handbook under "Luggage".

Where to put the fire extinguisher ?

Post by Ericske »

Hi,

Got my car from the dealer last week but they didn't fasten my fire extinguisher. They did that on purpose, they had a few problems with clients in the past who didn't like the location the dealer chose. So they ended up drilling more holes in the car. To avoid this, they let the customer choose and put it in place on a later date.
So my question: were did you guys (and girls) have your extinguisher placed ?

Thanks and happy drivin',
Eric

RW1 wrote:The Touring Safety pack's First Aid kit is much larger (red pack). It's about twice the height of the boot corner pocket. Hence why I had to use Velcro hook pads on the top half.

Does anyone have a part number for this kit please?

(There was a picture on the post that I quoted, it's on the first page of this thread.)

The whole kit with two High Viz Jackets, First Aid Kit and Reflector Warning Triangle is 000 093 059

The first aid alone does not have a marked VW part number separately.
