External Hard drive

Post by Trickytree »

Hi Guys,

My original hard drive has packed up so I thought while I'm replacing it I'd take the oppertunity to sort out a little niggle. Previously when ever I turn the car off the hard drive/media returns to the start of the libary i.e. A. Is it possible to get the car or hard drive to remember where it was when I turn the ignition back on? If it has anything to do with the library directory it's currently in 'Kings of Leon> Only By The Night> Closer' format?

Thanks in advance

Hmm.. That's odd, I use a 16 Gb USB stick and it always remembers where it was. Shows titles and album names properly too.

I know....... not sure if it's something to do with the file system on the hard drive. I'v no problem with the tags, they all show up perfectly??

Exactly the same here. Even if you add more files, it still remembers.

Niggle SOLVED!!! The cars media unit will not play an external drive that has been formatted in exFAT or NTFS. It works fine if I format it to the old FAT32 file system which is a pain if you have a storage device larger than 32gb and operate Windows 7. Anyhow sorted!!!
