New R owner

Post by nethers66 »

After ordering a 2.0 GT DSG and subsequently cancelling it due to long long leadtimes, i've found and bought a brand new unregistered R DSG in Rising Blue, delivery in a couple of weeks, its a pretty basic spec, metallic & reversing sensors, and only the RCD510 no bluetooth either but i've been looking at the Kenwood DNX520VBT as an all singing all dancing Media/Nav & phone replacement.

The R will replace my Alfa Brera 3.2 V6 Q4 Qtronic, great car but the lease is up and its very thirsty even compared to the R - I reckon i'll get an extra 10mpg from the R

I'm chuffed to bits. :nod:

congrats nethers :yes:

we have had 1 or 2 people try the Kenwood unit previously so there are some thoughts for you to read before fitting http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... it=kenwood" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for the link trix, interesting comments, the other option is to fit the fiscon bluetooth unit and keep my current separate Garmin sat nav.

Not sure yet, i'm not really one for major mods, I like my cars pretty standard, but never say never :D

DSG - My last 2 cars have been auto/semi auto Alfa GT Selespeed & Current Afla Brera Qtronic, both very different but both very good, I drove a Scirocco GT DSG for a few hours on a testdrive and the DSG box blew me away its soooooooo much better that i've driven before.

Got my "R" on Friday, very impresses so far. I've done a couple of mods already, S2T DSG paddle shifters, fitted my Pure DAB Radio.

Quick pics better ones to follow....
