Finding the right mobile is bad enough, but I always need to consider it needs to work with my hands-free bluetooth system in my Scirocco. The last phone I used was recommended via this site (Nokia N97 mini) and has been brilliant to be honest, even if it is no iPhone. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cool smartphone that will work with the bluetooth; does the new iPhone 4 work with the system? I know older iPhone have not. I don't really want to have lots of add-ons etc.
Cheers for your help.

Yep the new iphone 4 works
Re: Mobile phone recommendations
Doesn't it depend on age of the car - before the changes (week 45?) in 2010, the Bluetooth system was the rSAP one which wasn't compatible with a lot of phones. Since the changes last year, the Bluetooth option is more standard and compatible with wider range of phones, including iPhones. That's certainly the case in the Passat CC, thankfully ours got built after the changeover and both iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS work with with the new Bluetooth option.

Re: Mobile phone recommendations
Is there a latest list of smartphones compatible with a 2009 (09 plate) Roc bluetooth system?

Re: Mobile phone recommendations
Thanks for the info, I am trying to go for a HTC or an iPhone but may have to trial them first to see if the system is compatible. What a chore.

as you have deduced its 99.9% likely you have the rsap bluetooth so are restricted as to what phones will pair ( http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/roccop ... ble_Phones" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) but have you had a look to check what part number is on the bluetooth box under the passenger seat?
you can change it out for a 'proper' bluetooth version box that is now available if you don't want to be restricted in the future http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/roccop ... _Bluetooth" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
