Its not strictly 10% of the cost of the car, its because you have to take the leather option aswell which pushes up the cost. S3 only seems like better value cos of the standard leather.
They would be absolutely amazing in the Cloth Scirocco R trim with the alcantara bolsters, Wouldn't suffer the leather bolster creasing/cracking either.
The MK5 GTI Interlagos cloth ones on the left are the best ones they've ever made.
Does anyone happen to know, for the CS's does one need to order the Golf subframes? Capital Seating didn't seem to have Scirocco specific subframes for these, so i guess the Golf one's are what I will need?
The scirocco factory rails appear to be same as golf rails in ETKA so I'd guess you'll need the golf subframe.

I'd forgotten about those your right a cloth / alcantara R trim would look really good, shame VW will never offer such a option. The price different between cloth and leather back on the mk5 really wasn't enough to temp people into the cloth. Cheap imported domestic furniture using low quality leather has really destroyed the market for high quality fabric seats.. IMHO it won't be long before cloth seats disappear from all mid priced cars

The delicious-looking body huggers get seat sides and headrest trimmed in "Vienna" leather with the central parts clad in "San Remo" micro fiber. In addition, the seat back is painted in a glossy black finish, while the R logo is placed on the integrated head restraint.
The price for having your tushies treated like motorsports stars [in Germany] is €3,180 or about US$ 4,400 at today's exchange rates.
Damn vw with there price tags One thing that shocks me is that the new colored highline computer isnt that expensive only 185 pounds Wonder what thell have next for the scirocco Enough with my stupid writing pictures say it all

The seats are not one component but have to be built from parts. Building a pair of fronts has five pages of bits for something around £6k.
I understand the rears are trimmed to match the fronts with leather sides and microfibre centres.

uuhh...what? VW offers them as an R option, but you can't buy the seats as a singe part? bummer.
Getting some with the R logo sorta would be half the point.
Does Recaro offer bolt on seat frames like Sparco does for a lot of models? Couldn't really find all that much info on that on their site. Replacing the current seats would require maintaining side airbag functionality, heating and maintaining road legality.

The wife would moan like hell if i had them, she struggles getting in the car now due to the wide sills and slight bucket seats, the recaros are nice but i cant help but think those bottom seat bolsters will get worn quickly due to the design of both the car and the seat.

You can get CS's retrimmed with the R logo embroided on the headrests.
You can buy the subframes to fit the rocco and the CS can be bought with a side airbag or not, that's up to you if you want to retain that functionality. The heating element can also be put in during retrimming.

I have the same problem, that fact that the door are so long doesnt help with standard uk car parking spaces, it is at times hard to open the fully. Combine that with the high side bolsters on the Recaro's low roof line. I think it would make the car harder to get in and out of as it already is, leading to tatty looking side bolsters on you 2k Recaro seats...

Quite a sceptical view... lol
They look so much better than the standards seats, and as long as you try to be somewhat careful, i think you'd be fine.

was looking through the pics thinking nice, scrolling down, yep very smart, could perhaps trim my seats with alcantara, so can cope with the seats I have etc,
then saw the sculpted back of the recaro and well ...
I won't quite match those...very flash indeed, theyre a bit like the some of the TVR and Porsche GT2 seats with that solid back.

I beleive the grey peices on the back of the seats should've been done in carbon fibre ie like the scirocco bologna now thats a looker
